What does the tag on the plant say? (In 2nd picture.) And are those white blooms I see peeking out in picture #1? Can we get a better look at those? Flowers are always a great identifier. FataMorgana

The reason, as you know, that we don’t give common names is exactly for plants like this. The common names for this plant are “porcelain flower” or “wax plant”, neither of which will provide any sort of information when you google the names. If you are hoping to find information about growing the plant then always look it up by the scientific name. If you happen to stumble upon the common name in the process, so be it; however, it should not influence your search.

My first thought was tall Garden phlox as well. I have to go out and look at my obedient plant. I thought the leaves had more of a serrated edge and squarish stem.

Beheading will improve plant overall. These are really nice, with that purpllsh tint they get in proper light. Do not jus pop plant on patio for few hrs...If you have patio, why not keeping plant there during spring to fall? And you shouldn't just putt out suddenly, but do as Kara described:..."If you do decide to give your succulent more sun, slowly acclimate because it can burn going from lower light to stronger direct sun too quickly"... You could leave it outdoors and it will enjoy it. You didn't say what zone you are in, but this plant will live in temps close to freezing. So you could leave it there until temps drop to about 35-45*F. They bloom in winter, on quite long inflorescence, and daisy-like blooms.
