bought Thermador 30" range + vent 'all in' for less than Wolf pre tax

Done! At last! Not delivered but ordered.

New range and rangehood ordered.

Looked at Elctrolux Icon, as a much cheaper Wolf, but sadly although new, the grates did not work properly - Glad I took some pots and pans with me! The pots and pans 'rocked' or were unsteady - not sure this is good on a gas stove. Looked at Fisher Paykel- the have a promo with free exhaust fan, but I need an under cabient, so the wall mounted chimney on offer would have been a bit of a forced fit- would work, but kind of 'mixed' result..

So, spend gtwice as much (OK, three times as much!) And got

1, Thermadore Model: PRD304GHC Professional Series 30 inch Dual-Fuel Standard-depth Range PRD304GHC - Porcelain Rangetop http://www.thermador.ca/cooking/ranges#,fltSeries=f-pro-harmony-24-inch-standard-depth,fltType=f-dual-fuel,fltSize=f-30-inches

AND

2, Zepher Typhoon under cabine 30" with 850 CFM http://zephyronline.com/product_search?collections=cheng

ALL IN, taxes (13%) , delivery, everything, at or about $7.5K Canadian

So, for more or less the cost of the Wolf pre- tax, and pre delivery, I got the Thermador and the 850 CFM under cabinet vent hood paid for and ordered.

I think it will be fine, or better than fine. I think I did the correct thing in not buying the Icon if the grates were not 100% even. And if I can get a Thermadore and a 850 CFM vent hood home with an 'all in' cost for less than the cost of the Wolf pre-tax, then I think, although it is a lot of money, it is, in my view, a better deal than the Wolf.

And Thermador is an elite brand.

I am optimistic that with some reasonable care, this will be a 'buy it and forget it' purchase.
