Gazania, I laughed at loud at the picture of your granddog! Too cute. Jim, the first thought I had was "what kind of commute does THAT guy have that works at the top"!! Great pictures, everybody! Nicole, yours really is quite stunning. I hope someday I can see that in person!! Today is Fred's birthday. He is 12 today. What a clown he is. Such a good boy.

These are the 'slave huts' on Bonaire (Dutch Antilles). These are less than 20 feet from the water. Fortunately, hurricanes are rare in that part of the Caribbean, so the slaves were not in danger that way. Originally, the huts had thatch roofs, updating in recent years included a more permanent roof.

The 4th of July festivities have been so much fun in Philadelphia. Here's the Philadelphia Orchestra playing live to cheering thousands at Penn's Landing. It was fantastic! Spectacular fireworks after the show Happy early birthday America!

I'm glad that no one bashed Bud catching a bird. I am totally against people who let their cats loose to roam free in the neighbourhood, killing birds, pooping in flowerbeds and being at risk for their own lives. But Bud was on his balcony, surveying his kingdom. I'd love to know how he even caught the bird. Whether it was on the floor, on the railing, I don't know. He's on a partial raw diet......he won't transition to raw completely, and he does like chicken. He won't eat the beef, pork, kangaroo, turkey, rabbit meats, but he does love our meat that I prepare. Beef, pork, chicken, hamburger, etc. I gave him and Roxie a smelt that was cut up, and this was his reaction......
