Good plants to combine with common lilacs
Comments (2)Though this is in the wrong forum, I'll go ahead and post anyway. Next to my Lilac I have a Crepe Myrtle with rose bushes in between. I also have a climbing rose bush (Cecile Brunner) behind the lilac. I'm thinking of putting a hydrengea near this area too. All of which look scrumptious together. Comments (20)Nasty. I've never been officially diagnosed with migraines, so I just call mine "sick headaches," but I've never had to deal with anything as horrendous as what you described. I can't even imagine. I can give you some more input if you and your doctor decide you need medication, though. A couple of years ago, my psychiatrist prescribed Topomax for me as a mood stabilizer in addition to my other medications. I've been taking it ever since. The thing about Topomax is that its primary use is as a migraine preventer - mood stabilization is actually a side effect. I've only had two "sick headaches" since I started taking it. And as far as I know, Topomax doesn't have the potential for heart complications that Imitrex does. One of my co-workers had to go to the ER after a dose of Imitrex sent her heart into severe arrhythmia. As a first line of defense, my son's neurologist (he sees him for his ADHD) recommended Excedrin Migraine for his migraines, to be taken at the first indication of an aura. He says it works often enough to be worth trying at school if one comes on for him there. (We haven't had to put it to the test yet, so I can't give you firsthand information on results.) It might be worth keeping a small bottle in your purse, especially over Thanksgiving. Sending you a big bunch of sunflowers, Michelle, in hopes that you don't have to deal with this again very often if ever....See Moregood place to order lilacs from
Comments (4)I paid $41.70 for the shipping of 10 shrubs. Did you see lower shipping cost somewhere? Songsparrow has nice choice of Lilacs, but if you do not like Forestfarm's shipment charges, do not waste your time looking at Songsparrow's Lilacs. Bluestone Perennials has cheap shipping, but their shrubs are tiny, it takes forever for them to grow. Our local Costco had Lilacs last spring. Maybe, you should look for your Lilacs locally? 'Beauty of Moscow' is definitely very common....See MoreKraftmaid sale good or normal - order today?
Comments (5)I agree with Suzanne. If you've had a plan in place for at least a couple of weeks with which you are completely comfortable (posting your final, final, final plan here for feedback is a good idea), then it's the right time to order. Don't let what seems to be a great sale rush you into a plan. Kraftmaid, Lowes and HD have some sort of sale or another running continually. Side note, I didn't see your questions about my bookcases inset into the sides of my double sided fireplace that you wrote to me on my Breezy's Not-Yet-Done Kitchen Part 2 thread until recently. I answered your questions there, but I wasn't sure if you saw them since I was about a month late in answering! My apologies. I just forgot to check the box to have post replies emailed to me. :)...See MoreGeorge Smith
