Hey there, Brandy. Thanks for the link. Believe it or not, I was once a computer sales/repair person. Many times, simply talking to a person would give me a clue. For example: I once had a customer who bought a brand new model haul it back saying "It won't even boot". I believed him and sent the machine to repair only to have it sent back with the note there was nothing wrong. The customer took it back to his office and an hour later was back with the system and the same complaint. I hooked it up in the store and it booted up just fine. The customer and I chatted for half an hour and he mentioned his offices were in an old telephone exchange building that had been converted. Eureka!! I told him to set up his computer on the opposite side of the room. Half an hour later I got a call from him saying everything was working fine and how did I know that was the solution. From what he told me, I figured the interior wall had been where all the cables had been for the Telephone exchange or the cables were still there and the walls had picked up a charge that interfered with the computer. After some investigation the customer, who was a lawyer, found out the cables were still there and and the walls did have a charge, filed a lawsuit about it as a hazard to his and his employees health. Just a thought: I was having trouble using my VUDU Account on my Smart TV in my Bedroom. My wife uses Netflix all the time in there and the one time I try to watch a movie from my VUDU account it would run for 30 seconds and then the screen would go Green (also pixelated). After many hours of trying to figure out what the problem was, I figured out that the Software had been up dated to Accommodate HDX and the TV was only able to play the movies in HD or SD. I wondering if Netflix has a feature where you could adjust the picture resolution like in VUDU. You could then try it at a lower setting. I do have Netflix but have never had any problems. But it may be worth a looking into.

I am using Parrot Flower Powers extensively and find them very helpful. It's a good way to gain a better understanding of light, moisture, and soil. This kind of thing isn't for everyone... as I see from the comments above. Many commercial growers are using tools like these to increase their yields. Concepts such as 'watering the day before your plant needs it' becomes trivial along with the knowledge to maximize your growth. Of course, it still takes quite a bit of effort and learning to get the most out of it (like most things). My focus is more on the measurements rather than automatic recommendations from a tool. Most important is understanding what exactly is being measured and how. For example, I really don't find the nutrient/EC measurements useful because I prefer to have levels at the very bottom of the sensor's measurement range. For that I use a separate EC meter. Here are just a few of my graphs over the past year, since I am running multiple sensors. Temperatures over the past year including a cold spell outside in May: For light, I have been measuring in different places with this sensor throughout the year. Measurements are in PAR DLI: For watering, the cycles change throughout the year according to temperature. Early this year I arranged to have a good friend water my plants just enough to sustain them (it took her several hours each time as I have over two hundred plants with different needs). Overall, I think tools like these are fantastic and getting the data and trends are incredibly useful. I wish they were much cheaper and readily available, but right now it's a step in the right direction. Commercial measurement tools cost hundreds of dollars and close to a thousand if you include multiple sensors and logging capabilities.

Bestyears, I was keeping it vague because discussing dog training methods can be equal to politics! Try telling some of the militant rescue groups that you will be using a different training method than the one they strictly follow ... you will never get a dog from them! It worked great in the house and yard as the dog is very food motivated ... BUT outside none of the training made a difference. Critters and the chase were a much higher reward than anything I could offer. I even tried carrying filet mignon! I was being dragged around town by a crazy dog ... even with the easy-walk harness the positive trainer told me to buy. The dog just walked sideways and pushed into the harness. The last straw was when on a walk the dog nearly knocked me, and my father, to the ground when trying to get a squirrel. I had to kick the dog to stop her lunging and get us untangled (my Dad also had our smaller dog on leash). I looked for a different approach and found "balanced" training. The trainer I found is slightly different from #2 above in that they do use food rewards. Happy to message you a link to the training program website and the actual trainer I used. We now go on off leash hikes and I get stopped regularly by people who comment on her behavior and level of training. I got so many questions that I started carrying business cards for the trainer!! One of those people actually contacted and used my trainer, even thought she isn't local. Do your research and choose the trainer and method that best works for you and your dog. The best method will most likely be a combination of several different ones.
