help with wrens!

Cheryl Mitchell

I am a novice bluebirder and got very lucky with 1 successful bluebird nest within a week of installing 2 bluebird boxes last April. I also inadvertently supported successful broods of house wrens when 1 pair took over a chickadee nest and the other pair nested in my second bluebird box. All five bluebird chicks fledged a few days ago and I want to make sure wrens don't take over their empty nest. When wrens fledged I emptied boxes, moved the bluebird box farther away from brush/woods but they're baaaack. 2 new nests. I'm afraid our acre of property will now be taken over by wrens, though bluebirds, chickadees, titmice, cardinals, blue jays, and cat birds are all present around our feeders and baths. Help!
