I guess I should have said what my original purpose was, and it is twofold, first to wash off the sweat and grime after a long day in the garden, and second, to get a quick reprieve from the summer heat, also while enjoying the garden when it's 98 degrees out (possible???). Maybe a third would be a place to wash off muddy feet after traipsing through the garden on a wet day. BTW, my home is NOT immaculate - I'm a gardener after all, but I like to leave MOST of the mess outside if I can! I hear you about wasps and bees, they've been a personal phobia of mine for years - they love the deck area, the mud wasps scrape up their mud for their nests wherever they can get it, and it usually is under the deck after I've watered the pots. I can't do much about them though. As for other bees, I tolerate the slow moving bumblebees, they tend to ignore me, and yellowjackets don't seem to be a problem around the house, they have lots of forage elsewhere in the field. Perhaps I should just use foliage plants around the shower area - no delicious nectar plants that stinging insects love. As for space considerations, a place to change would be lovely, but I think this has to be more economical in scope (meaning the place I want to put it won't allow for huge.) I suppose I could manage 6 x 4, maybe 6 x 6, but I want this to be a humble little washing off place, not a spa in California! I don't even care about changing rooms, just a hook near the door and a place for a spare towel will do. Think - I'm grimy, I'm dirty, I'm sweaty, I'm too disgusting to enter the house - give me a lovely shower in the garden I've just labored over all day, let me throw on a towel and scamper up to the deck to dry off in the sun before I go in and get clean clothes on. That's the kind of shower I need.

Yo Ken, if your still around your up on this one. Far as Composites go I am with the Larry/whoever We are for the most part. Composites are really no longer using recycled material because there is just not enough of it so most of the raw stuff is virgin,the energy used to make composite is an enviro no no, when its time to remove the project composite is not real big on bio degrade its tricky to burn shreading it would be silly. Bottom line composites are not so enviro freindly. Info like that might suggest its not all that good to clean it either, with anything. I dont agree>> composites will out last Ipe, left to go silver/gray Ipe is as close to no maintance as a person can get. With the softer composites like Choice/MoistureShield even trex= tjunk I have found a coat or two of TWP 116 seals up the decking,locks in the color and keeps mold,mildew,stains from causing major problems. Of course not needing to do this is the reason the Wallet goes for composite in the first place. It sounds like privacy is a good thing as people are "drawn" to use outdoor showers. I want to do something playful, yet discrete enough to not incur the wrath of my neighbors. I will have to get really creative for privacy since our screened porch is above the shower area. As is the 2nd floor of our house. Sounds like I need a roof! I am an avid gardener, so I think I can do an arbor with a friendly vine to create the overhead privacy. About covenants...you are so fortunate to not have them. The HOA already called a special meeting about our pool once this summer. We had a pool on our original construction plan, but the ARB chairman in charge at the time moved away and wouldn't give anyone his files. So, our neighbors thought we were installing a pool without permission. And, a neighbor was sure her well went dry because she thought we filled our pool with our well water. No, we paid two tanker trucks to fill our pool. Oh, you wouldn't believe what happens if a neighbor sees something that doesn't fit the covenants! And we live on 4.5 acres! Aargh! Anyway, I digress... Thanks for the input!

Aww, thx, I love this bathroom. It has a french door to the outside and a solid door to the pool. Funny, it was supposed to be an outdoor shower but my architect misunderstood. Good thing, it has so much more utility.
