What is this? Weed or Wildflower

These popped up in my vegetable garden this year. Might have come from the manure.
While I think the purple flowers are pretty, they spread like wildfire. Should I be worried?
I have a 2 banks in our yard that I hate to mow. One is very steep, almost vertical, another I can mower with my riding mower, but it's a little scary.
Would this be a good ground cover?
