We finished building our house and moved in a couple months ago. I would like to get some new living room furniture. Our current set is our old formal set and it just doesn't match the feel and look of the house.

Hubby isn't the biggest fan of love seats. It's kind of a tight squeeze for 2 adults to comfortably sit in one. I do agree with him. He was thinking about a couch where our backyard windows are and then 2 chairs directly across with a coffee table in between. I don't know if I really like that idea because our kitchen has a long island running down the middle and I think visually it might look weird if our seating is placed in the way he wants. I think kind of helps separate the space from the family room to the kitchen, but I am no expert.

I would rather keep our current layout with a coach and loveseat, and then add in a chair to the right of the couch. I would just have to be mindful of the location of the front door and our little reading nook. Thoughts?
