options for countertops esp a peninsula?

Suggestions please

looked at granite.... nice but so thick and heavy.... Now would go for it if wasnt so thick... which I dont need or want ... esp in this old money pit house...

that" eco type from paper" supposely 'out of site or sight ? " priced...

laminates blah.....

really just need the peninsula part.. that part of kitchen is new...

also. if we could find a piece of matching beige laminate that would do the other mitre ...... the main part of cabinets are 2 mitres.. you knw.... almost u shaped....

where i want to do away with reg stove and do a cooktop...

Hubby suggested wood custom made ... I prob like stinless but bet it is very expensive...

saw several countertop on Craigs list but not quite the right lengths etc....

watched You tube for "Lazy Granite" but it has so many seams

best I can do without drawing program but it is 160 long countertop now with both right and left mitres in laminate

left L is 82 long 36 " right L long
