gold plated flatware?
Comments (6)Thanks, Susie. You won't beleive this. I was in Ross about a month ago and I was looking at that set of flatware. A lady who saw me looking said "you better get it, even if you change your mind and bring it back. They don't get the gold-plated very often." I thought about it and classified it as a "want" and not a need. Now my Thanksgiving Dinner count has gone up and I actually NEED it!! It went back Saturday but they had none. Guess I'll have to get a list of all the Ross's around here go to all of them. How long have you had yours?...See MoreGE Monogram Induction cooktop - Rim Free or With Rim
Comments (10)I may have been the poster you remember saying how much the GE Monogram stainless metallic fits with their kitchen. We have a luce di luna quartz counter top and a black glass cooktop would have looked terrible with it IMO. The reflective stainless makes it look just like it all blends together from a distance. Because with induction nothing bakes on or gets really hot it is easy to wipe up any spills so after months of use we don't notice any problem with clean up of the trim or food getting stuck under any edges. Right now I'm a few hundred miles away so I can't inspect it to make sure my memory is accurate but I would say you shouldn't worry about clean up. Can you post a picture of your granite. From the name, Venetian gold, it sounds as if it is a lighter stone that a stark black glass cooktop may not blend with very well but I'm only guessing here. As you can tell, I'm very happy with the appearance of metallic stainless so you need to balance that out with your misgivings about the utilitarian considerations but, I'm also happy with how that is working out although I initially had the same worries as you about the cleaning. Generally, I consider myself a function over form person but I really did fall in love with the metallic stainless appearance and I'm still in love. Comments (4)I think you can definitely mix them. However, I wouldn't mix them on the same wall. For example, if your fridge and your range are on one wall in black stainless, you could add a regular stainless DW and microwave in the island. If you're going this route, carry the mixed metal idea through to your faucets, hardware, and lighting, too. Lots of great photos on this site with mixed metal finishes in kitchens. All that said, I wouldn't do this if you're planning to sell the house in a few years. If it's a look you love and you will be in your home for many years to come, go for it....See MoreStainless Apron Sink with Gold faucet?
Comments (6)I think the brass faucet will look better with an undermount sink, but I would still probably stick to the brushed stainless finish, but that is just my taste and preference. If you like the look, then it should be fine. It isn't like you are making a wrong choice, just different than mine!...See More- 11 years ago
