We have a brand spankin new baby girl in our family! Our newest great granddaughter made her grand appearance June 9th at 5:53 pm, weighing in at 8lbs, 10oz and was 19 inches in length.
What a wonderful gift! This is our second great grand, she has an older brother who was our first. Her name is Elaina. I wish they lived near by so we could see her and hold her. This is one of the reasons for the new RV purchase!!

The males have several different looks in my area. I read somewhere that we have two varieties here, so that may account for some of the differences. Here's a newly emerged male, that is the regular species with the aqua blue hindwings. I love this picture, because of the way the light shone on him - I think this one with green on his hindwings is the subspecies - Some of them have silvery gray hindwings - Like I mentioned, the way the light hits them plays a role in how we see their coloring, but no doubt there are still a lot of true variations also. Congratulations, Linda! I love her name. A wonderful life moment for all of you - enjoy your visit & bring back lots of pictures. Enjoy this time - they are small for such little time. We had 2 new grandbabies born just a month apart in fall 2010 & now they're happy, very active toddlers, not babies at all anymore. They grow so quick. /tricia

I am a little late with this but wanted to say how happy I am that you are getting your girl. I got mine after two boys and nine years after the last boy and really had fun. She was a little spoiled since she was basically being raised by four parents. Tell Conner "Hi". I hope he is doing well and is happy about a little sister. Pat

That's wonderful. I love holding new babies. There's nothing like it. When I was a student nurse my favorite specialty was the newborn nursery in OB.
