Who ARE you people?!?

And by people, I mean pests.

I saw a handful of these on the sansevieria in my office, but now I'm seeing them on a few other plants at home that came as gifts from the same gardener. I was just beginning my plant journey and didn't realize that other plants could be infested... And they're spreading. Two of my jades are infected.

Here are some photos: they're the same critter but in different lighting as it scurried around the plant dish. Sorry that it's not the best photo, but these guys are TINY and pretty speedy. They look like a silvery taupe color that changes in the light. I haven't seen them on the plants themselves, mostly in the draining dish (and once on the top layer of the soil). I don't think they're fungus gnats because they don't fly.

If it helps any I'm located in upstate NY, but these plants came from Long Island.

Ideas? Battle plans? It doesn't seem like watering with soapy water is effective enough.

Thanks!
