Two more turtles "rescued"

Although I'm not sure either of them really count as a rescue. With one of them by the time I had parked in a nearby driveway and walked back to where I had seen the turtle it had safely finished crossing the road. I did move it up the steep hill in the direction it was going.

The other was a box turtle I found while mowing heavy weeds at the edge of my yard. The front edge of the push mower scraped the top of his shell. The next push would likely have done him in. But does it really count as a rescue if the only danger I was rescuing him from was me.

Keep up the good work!

I rescue earth worms after a rain......picking them off the sidewalk and putting them onto dirt...

rchovey... I bought them at both KMart... and Sears Essential stores. They are $9.99 each... but now and then go on sale. right before Christmas I found several at 1/2 price... which what much better. I also bought a turtle with a happy looking frog riding on it's back. It doesn't have "sand" under it... but is VERY cute! That was from KMart. Wow, Janie... that must have been a fancy one for $65! :)

@mamapinky0, I have Two Verisons. One is a incredibly old (powder) bottle from the U.K., while another was made in Hungary and somehow didn't make it overseas :p I found it at a Oillies outside of D.C. In the 'Burbs. :) Really like the stuff. Like you said, no extra suds, contains enzymes and a ton of oxygen bleach. Plus... It has a really good whitening system. :) Wonderful Stuff!!!! :)

Me, four! I've also rescued a box turtle in the middle of the road, and helped my daughter pick up a snapping turtle trying to cross a busy street.

I do that too....even the earthworms, Nicole. ;) I stop my truck and pick up turtles and carry them across the road, in the direction they were heading. Yesterday someone brought me two snakes to release...saying they were water snakes. They were in a pillow case and I didn't look at them until I got them to the water's edge and I was thinking "those don't look like any water snakes I've ever seen" so I looked them up on the internet and they are Texas Rat Snakes. I wish I had released them in my barn, although with so many cats around here, I don't see rats or mice. Funny though, because the woman who brought them to me....I happen to know she has a big problem with rats at her place. They even chewed the wires under the hood of her new truck.

Well, yeah. Discovering the box turtle before he got chopped is a rescue of sorts. He was moved out of harms way and that was a good service.
