Gold Standard and sun tolerance

I planted a gold Standard earlier this spring in what I thought would be a pretty good area for it. However, as the days have become warmer the sun seems to be killing it. It gets a few hours of morning sun and a few hours of afternoon sun.

I am thinking about moving it to the back of the house where it will be in the shade more. It is quickly dying away a few leaves a day, if I wait much longer I think it will eventually die.

It doesn't seem to be a fungus as the petioles are still strong, the leaves start to droop and eventually wilt and die. So, I'm fairly certain it's too much sun.

Any Ideas ?
