String of pearls looking like strings of tears... what's wrong?
Comments (7)Yes, agree with LilBit, definitely means more water. I find that they need more water than most succulents. Mine is just some small cuttings from a store, and since they aren't in gritty mix either, I thought I would water them less and they soon became wrinkled and ill-looking for quite awhile....until I decided to water them few days in a roll and it was like filling water balloons with water. Now I water them whenever the top inch of the soil is dry. Before After...See MoreString of Pearls has pointed pearls..

Comments (14)Thanks christina! I have reported it now into a teracotta pot into Westland garden health cactus soil, and placed it in a more light position, with the ones that where damaged I've curled them up and places them on top of soil into another pot and removed beads and tucked some Straight into the soil and will give it a myst, I noticed that pot I previously had it in isn't very good at all the water all sits in the bottom as the holes for drainage are on side! If it doesn't work I will purchase the bark!...See MoreString of pearls dying
Comments (1)As you know this soil is not right. So go get some perlite or pumice. This helps with drainage. If this planter doesn't have a hole then drill one or get a pot with drainage. Mix your soil with 50% perlite or pumice. Substitute more perlite/pumice if you have a heavy watering hand. Take the strands out and check the roots. The roots may or may not have little nodules. These are suppose to be there. If the roots are fine just replant. If they're not ok like rotting or dried out. Just cut them off and lay the strands on the soil. They will shoot out roots in a couple weeks. Remember no water till roots form. Keep in a dry cool place if you had to cut roots. They should be fine these little guys are one of the easiest to get roots forming. Goodluck:). I just had to make cuttings because they were getting way too long. My strands needed a haircut;)...See Moresowngrow (8a)
