Agree! Looking forward to "hearing" more from her. I'd like to see some recent pictures of her old/new house she bought a few years ago and has been re-doing. Also love the critters..from the possums to the donkeys to the pigs, etc....AND even water lillies. She is one fascinating woman. (Also love her relatively new "smile")

I unfriended her and her close friends and put my friends' list as private. I left her little snit up on my page. I guess I should see if I can "hide" it now.

I remember when you told us about her. It proves that she doesn't care about animals, and isn't much of a rehabber, if she would let the animals starve in your care. Had you not been able to afford the food, they would surely starve, and she's okay with that???

I didn't realize that you weren't taking care of the wildlife anymore. You always had possums. Your pigs, you had 3-4 of them if I remember. Pig Newton! What a hoot. Love the names you had given them all.

Glad to hear that you dumped that baggage. I always thought that she used you. That was a scary accident that Jodie had, especially since his knees weren't good to start with. How are the horses and mules?

Glad to hear from you. Sorry about the person treating you so bad. You have always tried to do your best to take care of the little creatures that need it and also supply that valuable information to some here who needed it. Take care and keep in touch

Jasdip, we would never let the animals go hungry. The shelter in Galveston has continued to donate to me because I took in several of their unadoptable cats, and they have been very good to me. When we don't have food, we buy it. Actually, Mare, she dumped me. I am glad to be rid of her, but was strapped by the food issue. Now though, she has given her "permission" that my wildlife can have food. The donors never realized that 90% of the donated food went to me because my animals are all alive. Dead animals don't eat very much. Actually, she has taken to "farming" out most of the animals brought to her, so they are in better hands because most people who take them to raise, really want to do right by them.

Oh, Lord! The pig situation!! I had Pig Sue...spayed, big pet. She was stolen but not before Pig Lee showed up....wild...and later, Pig Newton. Pig Lee was too wild to get spayed and by the time she was tame, too big. She and Newton had many children....I think we have sold about 40 of them so far. Her oldest daughter, Delores, and she had 11 pigs this spring. They are all big enough to go now and as much as I hate to see Pig Lee go, I can't keep having all these baby pigs. Pig Newt weighs about 600 lb. He is wild but he will take food from my hand. I don't try to pet him though, because he could be dangerous, especially if he got scared.

The horses and donkeys and mule are fine........however, we may be welcoming a little mule foal in a few months. My donkeys were fighting, so had to separate them until we could get them gelded. Due to having to keep them in pastures that didn't adjoin, Amos went in with the mares. I didn't worry too much about him breeding the mares, until I saw him breed
"my mare"....Mariah. I am not 100% sure she settled, but I have been watching her carefully.....and from what I know about such things, I think so. I could have her checked by the vet, but I will know soon enough. I wouldn't care if one of the other mares had a mule foal, but if it happens, it will probably be Mariah. Marilyn, I sure do miss seeing you here. I don't do Facebook and often wonder how you, your hubby and all of the animals are doing. I'm still saddened by what happened to Piggy Sue and no justice that could be done. Stay healthy and please pop in here at the KT more often.

Redcurls, he is a meth addict now...congratulations to him. Last I heard, his mother, who he was living with, made him move out. I don't know if he ever moved back in though. I got my dog back...I posted it on FB and someone found her. I couldn't believe it. She is the dog who adopted and raised a raccoon. Mare, if Mariah has a foal, it will be a mule. Amos is a donkey. Mules are sterile. I decided what I would name it....if she has a female foal...which is called a molly. Since it wasn't anything I planned....I am going to name it....Honey Boo Boo. :D

This is Tricia nursing the raccoon. By the way, the raccoon still lives with us....she is free to go...has never been in a cage, but she is holding us hostage. BTW, Tricia hadn't had puppies in over a year....before I got her...but she came back to her milk and gave enough milk that I didn't have to bottle feed the coon. Which worked out pretty good since the tiny terrorist didn't want to take a bottle in the first place.

Marilyn, I definitely know you would never let your animals go hungry. I was blaming that horrid woman for depriving you of your animals food. She is the one who wouldn't care if your animals went hungry. Evil woman.

I hope you're not giving her a second thought Marilyn. You were such a good friend. It seems that some of the most undeserving people get the most loyal friends.

That Tricia is some Mom, God love her. Look at her nursing that baby Racoon.

When that picture was taken, the raccoon was a few weeks old. When I got it, it was only a couple of days old. Now it weighs about 30 pounds. I knew raccoons stay with their families for about the first year. The year is past....but she shows no sign of wanting to leave. She can leave any time she wants to....but the problem is, I can't pick her up.....I didn't raise her, Tricia did, and she doesn't want to follow Tricia any more....so when I do get her outside, she stays a minute and then wants to come back inside. I think she is addicted to the air conditioning. She is surprisingly not very destructive. She did take over my closet, and she sleeps on the top shelf. At night she comes down and tries to get my wedding rings off my hand, sleeps a little while on the bed, eats and little and goes back to bed. She uses a litter box. She also likes to rummage thru Jody's pockets. We have to hide the cell phones from her. I even gave her a cell phone, but then she switched to wanting the tv remote....she takes the batteries out. The only reason I have her is I was babysitting N's shop and the animal control guy brought her. N wouldn't be home for a few days, so I had to take her and I didn't want to give her back because I knew she wouldn't take good care of her. N didn't mind me taking her. I told her I'd release her here on the bayou. There are some raccoons here that are ancient...they are so old. A couple of them are 15 years old.
