Have you ever been so sick you thought you're going to die?
Comments (56)Well what a great report from you, pitimpinai!! The last I heard you were still very low in energy and still on a ton of medication and little appetite, and listen to you, helping the neighbor till up a lawn! LOL What a nice neighbor you were to plant tomatoes and Dahlias. :-) I am happy to hear that you've also benefited from a shorter work day. Great that you had all that time off saved up. I bet you really needed it to get your energy back. We have gotten pretty much back to what is normal for us here. The weather has been stupendous in the past month! I have never seen the cover crop in the veggie beds so high. We've also gotten all the leaves mowed and collected in bins, ours and three neighbors. [g] We have gotten somewhat cleaned up for the year in the garden, but I keep adding to my list of what I want to get done before the weather turns. Still have a small amount of bulbs to plant and three shrubs to get in the ground, some pots to clean and put away and that will just about do it. I am actually looking forward to a break from the garden. Not that we don't get outside and enjoy it, but it's nice this time of year, to focus on other things. During the gardening season, the garden seems to push out other priorities. [g] I enjoy the winter garden and by the time spring comes, I am just itching to get back to a new growing season. Glad you are able to enjoy gardening again and hope you stay well this winter! :-)...See MoreWell, things COULD have been worse....
Comments (10)Sorry about the mess and loss of your seedlings, Carrie. That 'pile' might be very colorful. Please remember to post a photo of it later in the year. I understand the 'back of my mind' thing. Sometimes I visualize something going wrong that I could avoid if I were more careful or made other choses and then, boom, it happens and I feel like I deserved it as I knew better. So, we learn, shake it off and go on. The construction company just came to pick up the dumpster. Yay, we can park in the garage before it snows tonight! The new siding is up and only a little touch up painting is left to do to recover from last spring's hail damage....See MoreIt could have been worse
Comments (9)Cool plants Karyn. You always find the most unusual stuff! I found some more buds on some of my brugs today. I hope these don't fall off this time. One is Naughty Nick and I really want to see how that one comes out. The little girl did pretty good if she took care of all that by herself and nothing died. I love the hoya bloom. Mine seem to be rooting but my one I got last spring has never bloomed. I found some neat stuff while I was out in the yard today. I gotta go download some pics and show you all....See Moredog stairs - annoying but could have been much worse
Comments (3)I would make every effort to avoid reinforcing this behavior, which is what "helping" him down the stairs is doing. Next time he is waiting upstairs, try putting a small high-value treat on every other step leading down, then leave the area and ignore him for awhile. Go check your e-mail, make some phone calls, take a shower, start cooking dinner... just go about your normal life ignoring him completely and let him figure it out---"how scared am I?" vs. "how much do I want to be downstairs doing what everyone else is doing?" I have a small dog who likes to hang out halfway up the cat tower (that's as high as she can climb). It's a little harder for her to come down than it is to climb up, and sometimes she'll whine and yip at me to come rescue her. I'll leave the room and start making interesting conversation with the other animals in another room. Pretty quickly I'll hear her jump down and run to join us. It may take awhile the first time, but stay strong!...See Moresheilajoyce_gw
