Love blue flowers. Seldom seen in Canada. Botanical gardens, had one last summer.

I like the blue too, Inga. Another Thunbergia I have is T. mysorensis. Love its flowers although not blue. But for some reason mine hasn't flowered.

Looks a lot like Thunbergia vogilliana 'tru-blu', tropi; a popular bush growing 2 metres perhaps a bit more with similar spread. Here's a picture of mine I posted a year or so ago.

Mine was identified from photos I posted on a web site a number of years ago. So possibly it is the same as yours.

If it's a bush Tropi, it probably is. T. grandiflora is a vine, some do consider it a weed, even as far south as Sydney, lovely, largish pale blue flower. Dunno about it being a weed but it certainly is rampart. A friend of mine down there has it growing all over his garage and along a side fence, and a neighbour here (near Tweed Heads) has it virtually all along three fences of a half acre yard. Unusual your mysorensis hasn't flowered, I had it once; I planted it on an archway I built from lattice and it threatened to destroy it. I was sorry to have to pull to down, magnificent in flower. Also had the 'Black-eyed Susan' once, T. Alata - smaller, orange with black centre flower - but that's also rampant and definitely regarded as a weed.

This other one I've just posted is T. vogilliana , which, I guess, is one of the parents of 'Tru-blu'. I've never seen this one in a nursery; my original 'cutting' is from a 'sleight-of-hand' movement during one of my work-a-day lunch-time walks in the Sydney Royal Bot. Gdns many years ago. It's a much smaller bush that the 'tru-blu' variety.

Mine does sprawl a little bit but never really gets beyond shrub category. Must definitely be Thunbergia vogilliana 'tru-blu'. I've made a note in my records so I'll know in future, thanks.
