How can I protect young tomato plant from leaf curl
Comments (7)" A few have said, don't shade tomato plants, they love the sun no matter how high the temp. While others have said ABSOLUTELY provide them shade, especially on extremely hot days where the temp exceeds 90 degrees with midday sun. I'm a bit confused as to what's the best choice." It isn't an either/or choice. First because they are talking about normal weather patterns - which you don't have right now. Second, it depends on the age of the plants and the amount/degree of shade. Well established, big tall plants in the production stage of their life can tolerate much more sun and heat than young still-getting-established plants can. And we aren't talking about full dark shade, just something that cuts the sun exposure by 10-20% during the hottest part of the day (which is usually around 2-4 pm). Harry's old white sheet, window screens, or best some of the various row covers/shade cloth sold for that purpose. They still get plenty of sun but the heat is reduced a bit. And, even well-established blooming plants will not set fruit with temps in the mid-nineties so many use shade cloth just to drop the temps 5 degrees during those unusually hot periods. There are no absolute rules in growing. We have to adjust, to try to find a balance, for the variety of conditions as they develop. Comments (5)I am surprised that you didn't have the installer seal it . Mine was fully sealed at install . But yes I definitely wanted it sealed and I have quartzite and travertine in my bathroom vanities . Everything sealed . I would not use any other thing to clean other than a mixture of alcohol and water . I use the green alcohol so I can recognize it at a glance . I don't use any other cleaner except dish soap and water ....See MoreHi I have a kitchen sink faucet that is not working properly. It is a
Comments (4)If your spray head is separate from your faucet ... that kind of faucet is not supposed to work with a hand held spray head on -- the spray head is supposed to get the water flow instead -- or at least that is how mine works. If the sprayer head of the faucet is otherwise "restricted", try washing out any grit that might be stuck in the spray head by running water BACKWARDS through it -- from the outside toward the inside of it. You may even need to rub the outside with your finger as you do so to push any grit stuck in it out....See MoreHow can I find out if my builder installed a powerful enough AC unit?
Comments (11)Find out what your temperature split is / Temperature drop / Delta T. Take a temperature measurement at your return where your air filter is. Record that. Now take other temps from your supply vent(s). Subtract your air return temp from 1 supply vent temp. This measurement should be 15 to 20 degrees difference. I like to see 20 or as close as possible to that. Humidity? If humidity is elevated or high then temperature is only part of it. Buy yourself a way to measure humidity. Realize humidity can get re-introduced to the structure if AC turns off and blower keeps running. If humidity is above 55% your discomfort may have more to do with that part of the equation. (I live in a humid climate myself today I'm at 42% RH.) These two Humidity readings above the Left side was indoor / The right was outdoor. Humidity will fluctuate when taking readings give it some time. Placing it in kitchen, bathroom or laundry room could give elevated readings that might be normal depending a host of various variables. Because you have 3 thermostats leads me to believe you have a zoned system. Builders in my experience rarely get zoning right. Nest thermostats can "sometimes" be more of a problem than a "honest" solution. You'll need to do some sleuthing and or creating alot of noise to get things situated to your liking. Builders are waiting for that warranty period to run out. Probably more so for you because you've already had them out on what sounds like more than once. If the inside equipment is on, you feel hot --- what is the AC condenser on the outside doing? Walk out there and look. If the machine is running the air blowing out the top should feel warmer than the outdoor air. If it's not the compressor is probably not running / or refrigerant issues. Just because you see the outdoor condenser fan running, don't assume the compressor is running. Keep at it, once that warranty period is up the builders in my experience are long gone after that....See Moreshaddy101
