Questions about the Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Washer: WFMC3301
Comments (9)I have the model Nexxt 500 3301 uc washer & love it! We replaced a nasty Neptune - painted laundry room & closet & sealed concrete floor before bringing in new machines - LOL! Paranoid about the mold which, interestingly we have NEVER had on Frigidaire FL at the beach in 5 1/2 yrs! We wipe down gaskets after use (with a bit of clean laundry before it goes into dryer LOL), keep door open & keep radiator-style space heater on very low in laundry room (not conditioned space) in winter & plan to reun dehumidifier in there in summer. Cycle average 60 minutes for cold-hot cycles, the XXtra sanitary is long but those crispy clean sheets & towels are worth waiting for! Our dryer was the previous model (w/o glass front) which was a return at Lowes b/c purchaser opted against gas - we got it for $275! It has run like a charm - we put it in ourselves (already had hookup). This made the package purchase much more palatable given the 5 year lifespan of the cr*ppo Neptune was way too pricey. We have had the units only a few months but they seem like they will be problem free - I do clean the lint from the grid inside where the removable filter is in the dryer - chopsticks work great but I will get one of those bottlecleaner bristly brushes at some point - we have 3 cats & 2 dogs, hence lint/hair. This washer/dryer pair gets the hair off - a necessity in our house. I am still amazed at how really hot water gets whites truly white!...See MoreASKO Washers & Dryers - Part 5
Comments (151)My $.02, I have a pair of Asko's I've had since Aug/1997. Within the first couple of years the motor went out on the washer (seems to be a common problem) but it was covered under warranty. Probably around the 5 year mark I replaced the belt on the dryer. December of 2006 the motor quit on the washer again. I did some reading and bought a set of brushes, replaced them myself (very simple to do) and it's been going strong since. Over the last couple of years the dryer has been taking longer and longer to dry the clothes. I finally tore into it last week and cleaned out the blower housing. It was nearly closed off. It's back to drying like it did when new. All of these things seem like normal maintenance to me and I am pleased with the set. One thing that does bother me is I've repaired wires burnt in two in the top of the dryer on 4 different occasions in recent years. They are the wires to the fuse for the washer. It's only blown a fuse one time since I've had the set. I've never contacted Asko about this or mentioned it on this forum. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Dave...See MoreSetup for Asko Pro Series washer
Comments (20)Similar like the owners manual for a Mercedes AMG C-class is similar to that for an AMG E-class, perhaps? The Octoplus has what I imagined would be the real draw, the ability to add custom cycles. Details aren't fleshed out in the manual, though. Something about adding "wash blocks". Hopefully you can choose wash rhythm and duration. Specifics about rinse cycles aren't clear either. Octoplus manual is also missing a "Program sequence" chart like in the Little Giant manual, which might help you tell if, say, the fire protective clothing cycle is worth trying for something more mundane....See MoreEuropean Sized Washer/Dryers - Bosch, Asko
Comments (15)I may have to rescind my earlier reviews of my compact E'lux washer. The little plastic door latch has let go. E'lux knows this is an issue. I got the 1 year labour, 3 year parts warranty with it, so I thought "it's all good, I'll just order the part & replace" After spending about 1/2 hour on the phone with a CSA who clearly didn't understand her job, she finally figured things out & said it would cost me $75 for the part. But I have a "platinum warranty" That only covers parts when our service tech installs it. You have to pay for a service call. She then told me the only service is 2 ferries ($200 & 12 hours travel) She could not find the local co who has been the warranty service for them since 1989. Anyway, it's all set now, but I will never get that 4 hours of my life back trying to get this done. It certainly colours my thoughts on E'lux & their customer service. Fingers crossed that the door latch holds until the part comes in, sometime in the new year....See Morelarsi_gw
