Those do look nice. I have/had one but different species. Must have a look to see if it's still there. I put it on a tree stump and it sent out runners down the trunk. But always had trouble keeping the water up to it.

I believe it's Chrysothemis pulchella "Black flamingo" Feel certain it's a hybrid though and the genus Didn't know they could be grown as a epi since they originate from a bulb?? What i like about it is that in will remain in constant flower until the temps drop below 5 c Instead of dying will go dormant until stable temps return and can handle a lot of water without rotting unlike many gesneriads Here is a pic of another a" Florist Gloxinia "

makes a terrible garden plant as the flowers are large and on inflexible stems rain wipes them out Have had it since the 70's but always kept it as a houseplant I put it under some large aroids and seems to be working though haven't had any really heavy rain .
