Need new home computer
Comments (6)I have always used Windows. I also have a I phone and bought a I pad Air last year. I find I rarely use the I pad. It is nice for pictures and reading as the screen is bigger. But I rarely use it because its too big and is not a phone. I use my I phone for almost everything. It is always in my purse or my pocket. The I pad gets left home. I take it for traveling but find I wind up reading on my phone. I'm not thrilled with the way Apple works with some of the things I use frequently. I can't access My Docs or anything on my computer. I know there is a way, but the work around is difficult so I don't do it. I wind up on my Windows PC each night. What I don't like about Apple is how proprietary it is. There are Apps which help, but Apple doesn't allow Flash and some of the things I use don't work or are complicated to get to work. If Windows came out with a phone and tablet which was good, I would switch. I've tried the Surface and the Windows phone and it doesn't compare to Apple. I also don't like the various Android phones. I actually miss my old Blackberry, which was so easy to use and worked with either platform. Think hard and twice before switching totally to Apple. It's not as simple as you think, in my opinion. Comments (1)Ferreting around Google for a moment, it appears the G4/1.33 was introduced on September 16, 2003 and discontinued on April 19, 2004. Google using the the model number as the keyword. The appearing entries include model information as well as available sales. Take a look at their prices versus the one you are interested in and draw your own conclusion. "If it sounds too good to be true.....". And let us not forget, "Buyer beware". Good luck! DA...See MoreVOIP vs U-verse etc
Comments (6)Ha! We dumped cable, too! Also got rid of the landline, but kept internet. We kept our home phone number on the new iPhone that we got to use for the house. Used an antenna with the tv, but decided to go ahead and get a new Smart tv. We have one already, but it is older and not quite like these new ones. We got a Samsung 50" 4K Ultra from Crutchfield on sale at a very good price. We can stream tv shows and movies through Amazon Prime, netflix, etc. and still get the local channels with the antenna. Our son also gave us Chromecast. It is a small media streaming device that we can use with our iPhones, Mac, or iPad to stream right to the tv. Being a techno-idiot, I only know that because it says so on the box. ð³ I think we are going to attach it to the old Sharp Aquos (sort of a first generation Smart tv, I think). I am thinking we may get a new Samsung 42" or so one for the kitchen/keeping room after the holidays. I suspect the non-4K Ultra HD tvs will go on sale at a huge price reduction once everyone decides they want the newer ones and I don't really care whether we have the superduper new-fangled HD or not....See MoreMacBook Pro ForceTouch
Comments (13)I don't have the Force Touch (older MacBook) but I found this on the Apple website so looks you'll need to experiment/research/go the Apple store and ask - they really are helpful. Reminds me that I was amazed at the trackpad when I got my iPad and then MacBook. The other laptop computers that I had used were awful in that regard. I was like "Wow. This thing is really easy to use." Good luck! "In addition to the intuitive Multi-Touch gestures you may be familiar with — like scrolling, swiping, pinching, and rotating — Force Touch brings a new dimension to the Mac experience. The sensitivity is customizable, allowing you to adjust how much pressure is needed to register a click. And the trackpad can even tell whether you’re clicking with your thumb or another finger and automatically adjusts the sensitivity level."...See MoreOutsidePlaying
