Steve Lau or someone else who doesn't use barriers

Hi, I just ordered Phyllostachys Atrovaginata from Ebay. I was wondering if it's roots (being a moist/wet soil bamboo, I will be planting it in a wet to moist area) will be shallower than drier soil bamboos? I know other (well drained soil boos) can have deeper rhizomes, and wondered if this Boo in moist to wet soil may have easier to cut rhizomes. I ask this cause trees in wet/moist soil have shallower roots, I know that they are 2 different beasts, just want to ask about it. I also want to ask, If I start the Phyllos. Atrovag. in an area with thick green grass, the bamboo will be able to compete with the grass and succeed in spreading well? I think the answer is "Yes" and "by a long shot" but i thought I would ask anyways. And just for the heck of it, in case I get nervous, where is a cheap bamboo barrier source either mail order or near Pittsburgh or Morgantown Wv ? I think I can go barrierless, but, would like to have a barrier source in case I get so much growth I freak out or something. Thanks Poaky1
