Looking for porch light ideas - LED ceiling lights?

I have an enclosed porch/deck (screened). I am thinking about adding some lighting. Initially I had the idea to add two recessed lights. However, I don't seem to like the look even for 3" models. Also, it is not as easy to find smaller IC outdoor rated models.

So, I came across mini LED lights. An example of many:

The deck is about 12' x 8'.

Has anyone used/seen such lights in action?

Any other ideas I could pursue?

It depends on how you'd like to use the space and the desired style.

e.g.

1. If the area is an extension of the main living space / used for reading, more light is needed. Maybe wall mount/ floor lamp(s) in addition to low voltage recessed lights? Or surface mount lamps?

2. If occasional usage with low light requirements, the de-kor lights should work just fine.

Rope/ tape cove lighting is another option.

The idea is more to have a mood light. No reading - or as you suggested adding a reading lamp. I would prefer stronger LED's than the de-kor, just in case. I will be adding a dimmer. I preferred a known brand. But this market seems not to be covered by traditionals.

Also the new GE Reveal LEDs - they have good color rendering (90 CRI) and though the 2850K color temperature doesn't sound all that different than 2700, they definitely throw off a cooler cast than 2700K bulbs. Available in a BR30 flood or standard (A19) 40- or 60-watt replacement. Home Depot stocks them in their stores and I just bought a BR30 to try it out. I can't get your link to work btw

We put track lighting, with dimmer switches, in our 12x16 screen porch, also with a cathedral ceiling. This allowed us to direct light to reading and dining areas and also reflect light off of the ceiling. We've been happy with the result. We also have a ceiling fan, but did not feel the need for a light for the fan. By the way, make sure any fan you get is rated for exterior use, even though it is in a covered area an exterior fan is recommended. Casablanca has a couple of nice ones. Marty

When researching lights for our rebuild, I'd read in a few places that people who apply makeup prefer lighting that's as close as possible to "daylight", thus closer simulating what the result will look like when outdoors. So that's defined as "5000K to 6500K". The higher K will definitely look a little harsh to some, so I compromised and the overhead bathroom light is "warm" (3500K I think) and for the vanity light (actually a backlit mirror) I went for 5500K. It is indeed getting harder and harder to find fixtures that take separate bulbs. And when we were looking, it was a nightmare trying to choose based on online info (or mis-info in many cases) so we broke down and visited a local lighting speciality store. In the end it wasn't *that* much more expensive, and we had the advantage of being able to pick far in advance and catch sales, and they stored our fixtures in their warehouse until we were ready to collect.

Other than low voltage, you could consider using line voltage lighting.
