If you had to get them all from Lowe's....

what appliances would you get? That's the boat I'm in, and right now, I'm thinking Frigidaire French Do0or Fridge (SS),

Frigidaire Gallery Smooth Surface Convection Electric Range (SS), and

Frigidaire Professional Over-the-Range Convection Microwave (Smudge proof SS) - since we have no room for double ovens, this will give me another oven in a pinch. Oh and Bosche dishwasher - i think they only have one model right now.

Not sure why I ended up w/ all Frigidaire - maybe the SS is smudge proof, which is what I was leaning towards.

We've had mis-matched appliances for years now, but they have been RELIABLE. I really, really don't want to be sinking money into repairs so am trying to make good choices up front. Any recommendations for appliances from Lowe's? TIA!!

I used a Frigidaire range like you mentioned in a vacation rental and I liked it overall. The oven worked well and the burners were much more responsive than other smooth top burners I have used. The only problem is that the racks in the oven were too narrow and fell down. I was thinking that possibly the range had been stacked improperly at sometime in a warehouse or who knows but it was dangerous.

We had gift cards from Lowes and used it to buy Bosch for our 2nd home. The DW is the best one you can buy there. They do carry a few more brands and models online; be sure to check it out. They can even help you shop online in the store. We ended up with the Bosch range, fridge, etc, because it was a small space. However, sadly, Lowe's is not carrying the Bosch induction line (we went with gas).

Last summer Lowes put their water plants at 90% off clearance. I bought 30 plants for $15. It was just the right place at the right time.LOL I usually miss the sales. I made a holding place for them in a Kiddie pool.I spent about 2 weekends potting everything and placing them in the pond. All have done well. I only bought plants that did not look dried up and were still in water. One of the water lilies was a Mayla which is a gorgeous hot pink and I also bought pale pink ones. I found it a great way to fill in the bare spaces in my pond. So far, this year, the cheapest the water plants have been is 50% off. This year, Our Lowes bought less stock than last year.

The trees (there are 3 of them in this narrow curving bed, planted in a flattened upside down "v") are actually in the same family as crabapples, but are Crusader Hawthorns, Crataegus crus-galli ÂCruzamÂ. These are dwarf thornless Hawthorns which supposedly top out at 15-20 ft tall and wide, with tiny glossy leaves which perch on craggy, architectural looking limbs, and have a very rough grey bark. Crusaders have somewhat stinky white flowers (loved by bees and other insects) in June after the crabapples I have are done blooming, and red-orange berries in early fall, followed by orange fall color. These are great trees (also very disease resistent) for small lots and tolerate my heavy very wet clay alkaline soil. The arborvitae (two of them) are Thuja occidentalis 'Smaragd', also called Emerald or Emerald Green. They are pyramidal and get about 15 ft tall and 3 ft wide. I bought them because they stay green during the winter, instead of the off green/brown color of many arborvitaes in my climate and also tolerate wettish clay soil. They are common here and often used as a solid hedge all around people's yards, space I wasn't about to give up to a hedge in my small yard. I settled on two arborvitaes planted on the sides of the flattened inverted "v", each in between two of the hawthorns, and each flanked by two variegated Red twig dogwoods. Although this "reads" as one planting, the Emeralds are actually planted along the fence in another long curving bed behind a 3 foot wide grass path dividing the two beds. The fence bed area contains a drainage swale and a neighborhood drain on each side, 7 homes on one side drain to my right and 7 more to my left. The arborvitaes are planted several feet below the level of the bed with the hawthorns, all of this gets telescoped inwards by the camera. Anyway, sorry this is so long, I get carried away sometimes.

I have no roses that I regret acquiring, but I do have roses that I regret putting where I did. Everything seems to grow larger than expected here, and it took me some time to learn that. I now have monster roses that really need to be relocated. Crepuscule finally got a haircut of about half her growth in January. I hope she doesn't get too pissy with me. She loves her location just a bit too much. Alberic Barbier has canes that end up about 15 feet beyond the plant on the ground UNDER THE FALLEN OAK LEAVES. Ouch !!! I do a fair amount of barefoot gardening. And finally, Silver Moon (aka The Kraken) is going to smother Ghislaine de Feligonde (not exactly a small rose herself). I just had to trim Ghislaine from a pathway. These monsters need to be shuffled around and I am not looking forward to it. The Kraken is staying put - I am not dealing with those fish hooks. It almost ate me when I tried to "scratch in" some fertilizer. Wow, she gets thrown some 10-10-10 from now on. It's funny, though. These are all great roses and have won their places in my garden. I just didn't leave them near enough room and now I have to try to move giant briar patches. Gardening is definitely about location.

What a nice yard sale find. Well actually it was a 'moving' sale, and I spied the tomato plants all loaded down and asked for a few, and was told to help myself as several others had too. I asked if the nice concrete wire tomato cages might be for sale. "No." How about the big old iron wagon wheel (in a flower bed)? "No." The doghouse? "No."

Dacor gas range. Or Bosch induction cooktop and KitchenAid wall ovens. Or Electrolux induction slide in range. Kitchen aid DW (I like a heated dry to be available.). Electrolux all fridge and all freezer. Sharp MW drawer. All that is missing would be the hood and that would depend on the cooking products chosen.

I wouldn't do Frigidaire for anything other than if maybe the Electrolux fridge freezer wouldn't quite make it in the budget. The Frigidaire ones are close enough in most functions that they would be an acceptable alternative. Not a fan of Frigidaire cooking products.

If you are considering mostly Frigidaire appliances, you might want to consider the Frigidaire Gallery induction range, FGIF2061NF instead of the Frigidaire Gallery radiant electric smoothtop. Saw one at our local Lowe's yesterday with what looked like a markdown for the Memorial Day weekend.

I agree with jwvideo, get the induction. I've had a Frigidaire induction since 2011. No problems and is miles ahead of radiant electric.

I'm going to third the induction suggestion. I have been very happy with my frigidaire induction range, purchased at lowes over two years ago. Fwiw, their smudge proof stainless is much easier to clean than my stainless Bosch dishwasher.

Wow - that induction range gets GREAT reviews! Thank you for the suggestions. What's a good fridge as far as dependability goes? Moving up from what we've got now, anything is going to be an upgrade...

We also bought some of our appliances through Lowe's (not all, because we found a couple they didn't carry elsewhere) mainly because they will price match any appliance (including online prices) and they can get many more models of appliances than they show in the store. For instance, we purchased our GE Induction slide-in through Lowe's, even though they don't carry it in the store. And the online price (from Amazon at the time) was significantly better than any local deal. And because I am paranoid about warranty issues, we bought Lowe's extended warranty for the appliances we purchased through them. It's my understanding that Lowe's warranty covers damages caused by power surges whereas not all extended warranties do. At least that's how I justified the purchase since our home is in an area prone to surges :)
