Hey, I was wondering why you don't replace those feeders with plants that attract them? My humming birds feeders never work, but boy were they humming around my 'Gold Flame Honeysuckle', and my 'Butterfly Bushes', especially the 'Black Night' one...They love these plants and I have more success with plants that attract than those bird feeders....I had other birds common like sparrows drinking the water though..arg. I planted 5 Honey Suckle and a couple of different types of bushes and let me tell you when I say they come around, and I live in the city...I even saw them in July and the beginning of August)

Sharon, I have four o'clocks that they love, but those aren't blooming well right now. They also love the brugmansias (angel trumpets) when they're blooming, and the purple showers. Nothing blooms well here in the summer, because it's so hot, so the feeder makes sure they don't starve. I'm going to order a feeder that they can actually sit on. This one doesn't allow them to sit and drink. I need a larger feeder where they can all sit, because they're drinking all day long now, and I've seen at least two. I know I have a pair, so babies will soon need to drink.

Excellent video , tmc2009 - I enjoyed seeing the hummingbird's tongue darting in and out as it paused in between feeding. It was interesting that the hummer chased the chickadee away at 4 min 13 seconds but fled from the bee(?) at the end. I guess chickadees are annoying but bees are very dangerous. Claire
