Some pictures of my new garden (long)
Comments (19)Your gardens are beautiful. I only hope as mine matures and I learn more about gardening I can accomplish what you have. I want to become a Master Gardener and was going to start classes but told a friend I would wait for her to retire next year so we can do it together. What else is planted with the hostas? I have an area under my trees that I want to have a shade garden and so far just have some ferns and a gardenia. What is the last flower, the purple spikey one? Love it. Did you have to train or tie the clematis to climb up the gardeners pole or does it do it by itself. Enjoy!...See MoreSome Pictures from my Garden
Comments (14)Thank you for all the wonderful comments :) Each one, when it arrived in my email, made me smile again! I still have so much that I want to do, but it does feel nice to have some areas that are staring to come together! As very few people around me have gardens with more than evergreen shrubs, it is nice to hear such lovely comments every once in a while! I do have a lot of pink :) Funny, because my favorite colour is actually purple! My favorite photo is also the second one, with the lighter pink lupines and darker pink peonies. Lupine was moved there last year so this is the first year it has bloomed like that, and while I thought it would be pretty, I never imagined how nicely they would fit together! thyme2dig - Supreme Sultan really is a beauty isn't he? Such large blooms, and so many on each stalk that it weighs them down and I need to prop them up between other flowers to keep them upright!!! And luscious colour, so rich. One of my favorite Irises!...See MoreSome Pictures from my garden

Comments (14)Thanks everyone for the nice comments. My yard is just now "coming into being". We built the house about 15 years ago in the middle of a lot that only had sizable trees at the back of the pasture. We have planted all of the rest. It has taken years of hard work to get the soil in decent shape and for shrubs and stuff to get some size. I've pretty much done it with my shovel and wheelbarrow! And of course, it all takes a lot of $$$ which had to be spread out over time! Now if I could only have a sprinkler system installed my life would be SO much easier!...See Morepaula_b_gardener 5b_ON
