Chinese Elm Bonsai no signs of life
Comments (3)Hi, first of all, tap water and watering from above vs immersion is good! Immersion is not, and it's so difficult to tell anyone otherwise when half the 'care' tags on trees tell you to dunk them... so don't blame yourself for the method. It's possible you didn't water often enough, it's possible you watered too often, possible you didn't allow enough time for water to reach the drain holes so only half the roots got a drink, and if you can remember which and what of those was done how, please say... It's also possible it didn't get enough light, or that the tree knew it was autumn and lost its leaves appropriately, but that something else was wrong. Did you fertilize routinely? Without more info it's hard to guess at what happened. How long had you had it? And have you had central heating on - for how long?...See Morelantanas, signs of life yet?
Comments (34)I have two in one bed that have been up for a couple of months. I have six in another bed that are just now beginning to push through the ground that I had given up on. Go figure! Same amount of sunlight. The only thing that's a little different is the 1st set has a little bit better soil. I say - don't give up yet!...See MoreOfficial 2013 Quilt Retreat SignUps
Comments (56)Boo is adorable and I'm sure she'd love it that you're going to make her her very own mouse. As far as eating the mice, I think you all should be required to sing the ditty Bev posted above before gobbling them down. When I posted that photo on FB, my niece asked if there were any blind mice. What I've learned from studying animal behavior is that the wounded and certain types of animals are often disproportionately susceptible to predators and that's why she didn't see any blind ones or any chocolate brown ones....See MoreWill Kitchy Signs With Sayings EVER Go Away??
Comments (86)I have some word signs. Hand made on reclaimed wood with a bible verse that is important to me and another with a saying that means something to me. I have noticed that word art is everywhere. I am not a fan of most of what I see in stores because I like that I made my art myself with words that I thought about before using and hanging on my walls. I do have one "store bought" sign (it's just the word FAMILY) but I bought it bc it is the perfect shade of red in a room that needed one more red item. When and if I find something else to take its place in the future I won't feel bad about replacing it because it didn't cost much. I bought it at Homegoods. I didn't think my signs were pedestrian. But this isn't the first time that reading a thread has made me realise my decor choices aren't cool, original, or in vogue at Gardenweb. Regardless, I love what I put on my walls and it is me and my family that has to read them every day...so they stay. If a friend chose not to visit because of the way that I decorate...well that's a friend I don't mind losing....See More- 11 years ago
