wall of grasses, some aren't growing at the same rate?
Comments (3)I can't tell varieties at this distance, but the second group of 2 are certainly smaller, both in height and in diameter of the crown. It's possible they were a year apart in age when you planted them. It's possible their conditions are different; soil, water, sun exposure, etc.. It also looks like you lost the one in the middle. I'd give them more time. There's a lot to be said for growing grasses to maturity in nursery beds, before creating so formal a display. This way you're more certain you have matching copies....See MoreThings to do when there aren't many blooms
Comments (17)Rita - Those sound like good butterfly attracting plants. I have two butterfly bushes in my island bed and purple coneflowers in one of my borders. I have grown zinnias and cosmos before, and they were excellent butterfly attractors. Here's what I've put in the new bed: Turn Of The Century hardy hibiscus (1) A new lantana that is hardy to my area called Chapel Hill Yellow(3) Rajun Cajun ruella(2), a red hummingbird attractor - a tender perennial that is supposed to overwinter in my zone. Garden phoxes Bright Eyes and David (3) Becky Shasta daisy (1) Rudebeckia goldstrum (1) Homestead purple verbena (2) Aster Viking Star (1) I would like to add some sedum, cosmos and zinnias, but I'm already running out of room for daylilies!!! I'll have to post some photos of the new bed when I get it all planted. Debra...See MoreIs it obvious that these fixtures aren't of the same grouping?
Comments (11)thanks for the color compliments, dixiedoodle. the pictures aren't really 'true to life'. the den is a soft grey blue and the dining is a soft yellow called ionic ivory. it looks more green in the picture. and thanks to both of you for reassuring me that it's fine. yeah, the dining room fixture is a little high because we have 12ft ceilings. do you think I should order an extension rod? I think i can get that from kichler....See More(Same old song!) The quest for bedsheets that aren't ...
Comments (32)I just returned from a trip to Target to look at the Shabby Chic sheets--very nice. They also have Threshold Percale in 250 count that feel crispy. My favorite sheets came from Target and may be the Percale I saw today. I hadn't recognized them when I tried to buy more--but I think that's what they must be. Wonderfully cool and crispy! Thanks for all the tips, there are many of us who don't like sateen sheets!...See Moremusicgale
