When you and the architect aren't on the same page...

Right now I get the sense that the architect doesn't understand our vision for the facade of of the home we're having him design. How do we get him on the same page? I know that switching architects is an option but I'd prefer to stay with him. He's done a great job on the floor plan, he works very well with our builder, he's on architectural control committee for the neighborhood which has been very helpful, and he's designing the next door neighbor's house. We will only have one next door neighbor. The final reason is very important because both the neighbor's lot and our lot have complicated drainage issues. Since he's designing that house we know what our neighbor's drainage plan is and we know that his plan will be designed to work well with their plan.

I'm concerned because the first house elevation wasn't right which is fine since it was the first try. What worries me is that his second try was even less like what we've requested.
