What can I do with a root bound manhattan euonymus

I have 3 manhattan euonymus that are in containers. They've been in the same containers for 5 years and now are very root bound and after a couple tough winters, not doing well at all. The container won't hold moisture, water just runs out the bottom and it runs yellow/orange. Leaves that didn't fall off from the winter are turning red at the tips (sugar problem?). That said, new blooms/branches are still growing in limited quantities. Hope may be gone for them but replacing them will be expensive so I need to give something a try. The only thing I can't do is put them in larger containers. The current containers are 20" wide, not sure how many gallons. Is there hope?
