Comments (33)LOVE this forum :) I have 2 plants that a client gave me back in May...she chopped off cuttings from her HUGE plant. They have been doing great...but noticed the red spots that some of you have mentioned. They are all over both plants. We live in Tampa...very wet humid weather. I didn't get blooms this year, but I guess from what I'm reading, sometimes you have to wait when starting a new plant from a cutting. I just don't want my plants to dye!! The leaves used to look so healthy and now they look a bit dry, and the spots concern me. I also noticed that 1 or 2 leaves are being eaten up....so I guess I have pests too. Any advise?...See MoreHelp! Tomato Leaf Disease!
Comments (8)I'm with donna_in_sask on this post for pic #2 it really very, very tenuous. I'm not sure whether "Brandywine leaf curl" refers to pic #1 or #2 as titled, and I can't tell a potato leaf from a regular leaf in the pics with the small fields of view. Closeups are essential but so may be wide-field views. We don't know where these plants are climate wise? Are they in California? We can't see if the plants are stunted, etc... we have to take the word of the OP that "everything is OK, first time grower" without the chance to look it over, so any help is going to be severely limited. It would be better to post pics of the plants in situ and a run down of the environmental conditions up front. Anyone with an opinion or fresh mind can then judge independently. Agree the leaf roll is nothing to worry much about with OP. However: as the second pic with the twisted curl, How could one know if it were the onset of beet curly top virus or tomato yellow leaf curl virus? These diagnoses are usually not simple things like a litmus test. Knowing little of the context for the pic: herbicide drift sounds good. But something new was added ... drought conditions. It is possible we are seeing a response to drought on the young leaves twisting up like that. PC...See MoreLeaf Disease? Help! what's happening?
Comments (3)Hi miketree, it's hard to tell if it was indeed the fertilisers that caused the damage as we changed a few things at once.. We aren't overhead watering him, and often we don't water him more than once a week. He was previously in full afternoon sun (average mid-high 20's Celcius) with no problems but we went on a holiday for 1 week and the weather was mid 30's so we left them in a shaded patch during this time. I have tried to remove the fertilisers and placed him back in the sun but he is still not happy :( his trunk/roots have started to go kind of wrinkly too....See Morecumulus_nimbus
