Waimea Blooming In Virginia Beach, Virginia
Comments (15)Hello Everyone!!! I hear you Dave!!!!! The weather has been awful with all this rain and cool nights we have been having. My son and I Just finished bringing outside all of the trees from the house and most of the ones that were in the greenhouse. It's time to get them outside for the season!! It's a lot of work.. But you know this.. Ugh ... lots of inflos are appearing on my trees as well and I believe that it's going to be an exciting season.. We just need the heat and a little help from the plumeria gods!! Gorgeous pictures of your trees from last season., I'm sure you will have even more beauties soon!!! We extended the planter box beside the pool where I plunged some of my trees last year, So I'll be able to do the same for about Twenty more trees In the planter box .. Still can't believe hubby agreed to this .. Lol. But I'm so thankful !! Hi Mona!! Soooooo nice to see you!!! Sounds like you have a great list of inflos too!! I just have this feeling that those of us that have been waiting for years on some of our varieties to bloom will finally be rewarded!! We all know what patience is.. Especially those of us here in the Virgina, North Carolina areas.. I have had some bud drop on my Fantasia. It's still has a nice huge inflo, but I think it developed to early to really show its true beauty.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! Please post some pictures so we can see your babies!!! Congratulations on your Tobas Fire!! That's exciting!! Wooooooohooooo!!! Always a pleasure hearing from you Mona!!! ;-) take care everyone... Comments (21)Hi Andre! Welcome to the group!! it is very special to finally see your first bloom and feel the excitement of growing this in your own garden! Be careful of some of those videos on utube from certain " specialist!!" Some of those do not give the correct information and might steer you in the wrong direction! Just an FYI for you being new. If you need any advise.. the regulars here are very knowledgeable and we all don't mind answering questions! Again, welcome!! Hi Brennan... i usually don't trade or take cuttings unless there is a specific reason to cut, but I do like to help or give out when I have some from breaks or storms knocking them over. Thank you for you interest in my collection. I do have quite a few varieties and I do have a few that are rooting now ( cuttings) Once they have rooted, I'll post here for you and I'll give you one that you don't have in your collection. Many years ago I would cut just to share with friends and I wasn't watching how the overall shape of the tree would be. Now, I'm more sensitive about cutting and trying to have a better balanced/ shaped tree. Have a great day!! Laura...See MoreSome Blooms From The Yard!! ( Virginia Beach, Virginia)
Comments (16)K.. To funny about the " Marketing 101". It's true!! I have heard that George H is doing a great job with grafting as well! There is another George S down in Texas that receives shipments of grafted trees from Thailand. I believe he still has a few, but again.. they will come down in price next year. Dupefl.. I thin you might see some rooting these in a few years when they mature. Most of the trees around are pretty small and this cultivar is so beautiful and in short supply, they tend to graft to get those single tips out.. " 101". You might find that it's possible . Just like George Brown aka Musk Rainbow. Everyone says to graft, but I have rooted several and never had any problems. The hardest cultivar to root, in my opinion is Kapalua. I finally rooted one after several attempts. Friends have tried as well with only a few that were successful. This is why Kapalua is often mentioned Along with " grafting". Andre.. lol. Thank you so much! Kandhi.. it certainly has been a great season for us in Virginia!! I hope you continue to heal.. take it easy, please!! ;-) Chris.. lol. I can't seem to edit my post for some reason and when I looked back, I thought " ohhhhnooooo!" Lol. Oh well. Yes, I love Desert Sunrise it has so many beautiful faces in any climate. One of my favorites!! Rox.. I love Shimmering too! I'm so glad you picked up JF! It's really a stunning bloom!! Take care Everyone!...See MoreLurline - Blooming In Virginia Beach!!

It's pretty mature now and it isn't grafted. I bought this six years ago from Hawaii!! I hope you and L are doing well! Been thinking about you guys.. xo Have a great night !! Laura...See Morerox146
