HELP , tomatoe seedling looking bad , (pics )

hello , im new here but not new to gardening , im having some troubles this year with my tomato starts , verities , giant belgium , ukrainian purple and plum lemon ( wonderlight )

i started them about a month ago , germination rate was good aroud 90% on all 3 types ,, there being grown under brand new t5 tubes 54 watt 6400 k ,, they had a deep purple color like ive never seen before on the under sides of the leaves wich i dont really understand why , room temp is 74 to 76 ,, i check soil temps few times and they were around the 70 ,,, seems like the seedling got locked up and couldnt take in phosphorus instantly ,,, the plum lemon type started to show leaf curl about 3 days after first true leaves poped out , and now all 3 sets of leaves have intense leaf curling , rolled right up ,,, in the last week all my other types belgium and purple have begun to curl to , and what look like maybe some desiase starting

another angel same plant ,, eventully this leaf will fall off right at the main stem

top down view belgium giant type ,, its hard to tell in the pic ,, but some of the same spot and edges damage is starting to happen up on the higher leafs also

the spotting and edge damage is also dry i can touch it and it crumbles away but it remains the same color as the leaf just a lighter shade , on green leaves aswell ,, followed by the leaf dropping off a day or 2 later

any help will be great

I see possibly some over watering effects, as evidenced by leaf rolling and yellowing. I have never seen any yellow leaes on my seedling.

Another Question: How many hours a day(24 hrs) do you keep the lights on, and how close?

do you use one warm and one cool bulb? the purple undersides are often from being a bit cold, I dont think much of a problem as they warm up the purple fades away...not sure about the curling leaves...do you use soil less mix to pot them?

Pippi, My plant markers are made from the covers from coffee cans, margarine tubs, cottage cheese tubs, sour cream tubs. Anything that has a plastic cover. I cut them in half, and then each half is cut in half again. I use a black deco paint pen. Those are permanent and never fade. Some of those markers that are in the pics are 6 years old. I save them from year to year and just reuse them if I sow the same seeds again. Not all paint pens are the same. The ones that can be used on clothing do not work well on plastic and don't last, they either fade or rub off. A few others I've tried took a long time to dry on the plastic as well. That's why I stick with and use only Deco paint pens. By the time I'm through writing a label on the plastic, it's dry and ready to use. Oh, I don't cut of the edge of the covers either. I write the name of the seeds on that edge as well on the side of the tag. That way I can look down and read what is in the container as well as on the side Fran

Looks like "soil blocks" they're planted in? They look pretty soaked. I'd consider starting new seed in potting mix if nothing else, in containers of some sort. Watch your temps; they should be moderate, upper 50s to mid 70s. Keep the light levels high, bulbs close to the plants, but watch those temps. Just keep trying and you'll eventually find a system that works well for your sitaution. But if you're using garden soil or any other "soil" for starting blocks, you're asking for trouble. Better to use a "soiless" mix in containers to start seeds, unless you can figure out a home made mix that will give you the results you need (read drainage, no pathogens, etc.) and still block up nicely.

I saw my county's Master Gardeners today and came away happy. I pass on their advice for you to take or leave. They said from the myriad leaf samples I brought they could not identify verticillium and that many of the leaves looked as if the plants were suffering from the almost constant rain my area, quite uncharacteristically for this time of year, has been having. In any event, the feeling seemed to be that tomatoes are extremely difficult to keep disease and bug free in the south without spraying them with poison, and they've become accustomed to the leaves being subjected to any number of virus, mold, and critter problems in our area while still producing good fruit, (with cherry varieties being more vulnerable) so they advise just going with the flow. Cut off the damaged leaves, keep an eye out for caterpillars, and cut out the center stalks of the plants to allow for free flow of air. Also, don't use, as I told them I had last year, Miracle-Gro or any high nitrogen fertilizer because it will promote more leaf growth rather than feed the fruit growth. For caterpillars they recommended a microbial insecticide called Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) referred to as Thuricide. I picked 2 Super Sweet 100 cherries off while I was pruning the plants today and they were hmm, hmm good! So I'm not dumping and starting all over, but for any new plants I buy I will use fresh soil so I have a control group. If their leaves get funky as well I'll know I was given good advice. Also, anyone know where to get Everglades tomato seeds or plants?

ive been keeping the lights on 24 hours a day ,,, the bulbs are all 54 watt t5 6400k sun blaster brand . i keep the lights about 5 inches from the plants , been afriad to go any lower because of them not looking so healthy .... the over watering i was thinking bout that but i only water when the soil is very dry , pots are light and feel like weight nothing and i stick my finger down the side probably 2 inches and the medium feels dry ,, this is a different soiless mix than im used to i usually use promix bx ,but the store didnt have it this time and im useing a promix that come in a bag says seed starting mix it also has moisture crystals in it

i dont know what to do as there looking worse each day . i try a light foliar feed of fish emulsion , next time i water should i give them alittle epsom salt ?

growing season is just about to start and i dont want to put diseased plants out in my raised bed not time to restart and no seed left

i should add im also not to worried bout the purple coloring it was hard to capture in the picture but it was so deep of a purple ive never seen before at with room temps in the 70's i thought it was a little strange ,,, its the leaves drying on the margines and spots drying on leaves and them eventually fall of the main stem thats got me worried its also happening on newer leaves aswell :(

OK , zak,. That is why I asked the question.
Too much light also can cause purpling. That has happened to some of my pepper seedlings in the past.
Plants need some darkness to recuperate. That is how it is in nature and the genetics of them. The experts suggest about 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness.
I thin you are fine with promix.

It's probably not the problem but anything can help. If you're using tap water let it stand for 24 hours that gets rid of some of the chemicals and the water is room temperature

been useing filtered watter zero water the type you get in those big bottles for drinking stands like culligan water ,,, i decided to stop useing that, and ive used some rain water from my barrel outside for 1 watering so far ,,,, forgot to mention i also use a mycorrhiza supplement the problems seemd to happen around this time i used the stuff as a soil soak ,, but all the rest of my plants cucs and peppers seem ok

i only did one application of this stuff btw
