Husqvarna 5424S won't start

Was mowing the lawn yesterday with my 2013 RZ5424S zero turn with Kawasaki 24hp mother, everything seemed fine. Turned it off to take a break, came back a few minutes later and turning the key, the starter doesn't spin. This is what i did to troubleshoot...

Tested battery - voltage is 12.6v. Is this enough? Should I try jumping it with a charger anyways?

Pulled off wire plug from seat switch, looked fine, plugged it back in. I also tried jumping the plug with a wire by passing the switch, assuming the switch closed the circuit to indicate someone was sitting in the seat. (Is this accurate?)

Checked fuses, wires to solenoid, obvious places. Everything fine. Nothing was corroded or indicated problems.

I checked voltage on starter side of solenoid while turning key and no voltage that side. 12.6v on the battery side, so voltage is getting there.

Solenoid and seat switch is $30 from local parts place, but can't get them till next week. Wondering if I should order them and replace it.

The other thing I'll add, is when I turn the key to the first position, I here something being energized, but can't identify what's making the energize relay type noise. When I turn it to the further position to spin the starter, I hear nothing.

Any other ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

If what you report is accurate, You can't have voltage on one side of the starter solenoid and not on the other when it's energized (Key in START, not RUN) unless it's contacts are bad. Sounds like a bad solenoid. Take a jumper wire and jump Baterry + to the starter side of the solenoid and if the engine spins, that's a bad solenoid.

The noise you initially hear is probably the solenoid on carb energizing to admit gas.

You'll have to consult the wiring schematic for the machine to see how the switches are wired. Used to be simply closing a circuit would allow starting, not any more.

Can you explain further? The solenoid had 3 wires. One in from battery. One to the starter. One small wire which is the trigger. If the wire to the starter had power when key is in the on position, the starter would never stop spinning.

More Information than required. Could of just said he burnt it up? then I would of felt sorry for him. But beings I know the whole story just can't let it lie.. "O" that explains it! BDS, That's what I like to hear BDS's paying out the wazoo cause somebody wasn't there to take care of it for them. Just Cause he is management don't mean he earned it or knows anything useful. Just saying-- most promotions are Internal favors, Preception of hard work off backs of someone else, or nepotism. Sorry My glass is alway half empty.....when it comes to management. And for the few that got their promotions through hardwork I "Salute You" (which he maybe one for all I know) Don't want anyone to think I have NO faith in management, just little. Try pulling the rope with spark plug removed if it pulls through the piston is not seized.What octain gas were you using I've heard that Husqvarna saws seem to like high octain fuel.LOL MIKE

"put some gas dircectly into the cylinder" IMO this is very hard to get the right amount? usually too much will wet the plug and it won't fire due to the overriched condition unless you use and eye dropper IMO. You best option when priming IMO would be to use carb. cleaner down the spark plug hole as suggested. pull the rope several times to wash out excess. spray, clean, and check gap of the plug. Plug the spark plug back in lay it on the head and pull the rope and look for the pretty blue spark if you haven't already? Now one or two second blast down the spark plug hole install the plug and try to start it. Should pop or rev up off the carb. cleaner if not I would check the compression release especially if the rope is easier or easier than normal during starting. I would do this couple of times before I gave up and went into the carb. I don't like that cheap on and off switch on my husky (345) easy to have it off when you think it's on. Agree key is don't let the saw set all spring and summer expecting it to start in the fall when you need it. something somewhere is clogging the fine passages in the carb. or the needle is stuck open flooding the saw (should be seen with wet spark plug and wettness out the muffler sometimes. Even pulling the mixture screws and spraying pressurized carb. cleaner through them may not unplug it, dissassembly maybe in order to get to the idle curcuits and only welch plug will get to the idle, mid, and full jets. Usually above methods works though

To clarify my previous post, "when it's energized..." Is the starter solenoid energizing? You should hear a click, or put a finger on it and feel it click. If it doesn't, then your readings are normal. Sounds like a safety switch interrupting the start sequence, OR you left the PTO switch on which does the same thing.
