Comments (14)Thank you all for commenting. I sure found this exciting. Karen, thanks for the info on parentage. I didn't know TDL was a parent. Paul, I do have a couple of local rosy guru friends, who I look to for advice but don't know if they've ever budded roses before. I'll be sure to ask. I have rooted cuttings before, but have killed my share too-success is not always assured with me. Thanks for that report on yours Jeff. It's strange because I have 3 of this rose, one as long as 6 years and have never seen this before. Just curious as to whether the cane on yours which produced those blooms has rebloomed with normal red flowers? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Winchester Cathedral sported from Mary Rose and was stable enough to be be growing all over as WC occasionally sporting some Mary pink, so if it's the same type thing on WS2000 that wouldn't be a bad thing. : ) I do have an own root Variegata di Bologna which has a sporting cane that produces red blooms each year. I read on the Vintage site that this rose can revert to its parent or something of that sort. I've never tried to take a cutting; I just let it do its thing. Thank you all for sharing in my excitement. WS2000 is a great rebloomer and oh so fragrant, so if it were available in another color that would be too cool! I'll report as those other buds open. If it was just a freak of nature, it was fun while it lasted. Barb...See MoreIt's been a while...
Comments (49)Marcia, yes she does like flowers! Last year I taught her not to pull on the flowers, so she says "pat pat" and pats them. She thinks sea holly is hysterical because it's "sharp". The other day my mom found her with her face sideways on the ground and her butt in the air, having a conversation with a caterpillar. I haven't started a garden for her yet but I've been thinking about it....See MoreNot in bloom but been a while since I photoed the old girl
