Well that system has payed off. Caught her twice. I keep the receiving unit with me especially if I take a nap. It has put me at a high point in my confidence cycle.

Wow! Hang in there! You don't want to lose her! I find trips to stores often mean to 3 to get all the things I want when I used to be able to get everything at 1 store. Progress is more like regression!

There is a learning curve for sure. It’s got 3 settings: off low high. First night had it on high all night. Well I got up about 4 and went out to get the papah. (That’s Boston for paper). Anyway I clean forgot the stupid thing and off it went and woke my wife.

This morning it let fly several times and turns out it was sensing garbage trucks in the street about maybe 70-90 feet away.

We have screen doors that scroll to the side. You go out then turn around to set the screen then turn back on your way which produces a triple whammy.

So it’s like anything else, you finally zero in on it after a bit.

My husband had AZ and I knew the problem of roaming so I fixed a small iron bench with small wind chimes, noisy ones and set it in front of our bedroom door every night. He tried to move it one time and it must have scared him because he never tried again. I was lucky he didn't want me out of his site, so he never roamed, except one time when he got mad at me. He started down the street and I went after him. He said he was not going back to that house with that woman in it. Of course that woman was me. I couldn't make him go home, so I told him I am that woman and I love you. If you don't come home, I will have to call the police and they will take you the hospital for an evaluation. If they think I am not taking care of you properly, they may put you in a care home. I went back home and watched him from the porch. He stood there for a minute and came home.

mxyplux, hope you are hanging in there with humor. Just reread what you wrote above. Hope you haven't had too many false alarms!

Well I hit something & underlined everything. Sorry about that!

Odd thing did happen several nights later. The alarm hoisted me up. I circled twice and lit out for the doors. Locked! Hmm. Must been a big bug or a pussy cat. Back to sleep and there came a sharp knock on the front door like they meant business. Wow! More levitating and circling; again locked nobody there. Back to bed and after a bit finally decided I had dreamt both events. Those sounds were completely physically real to me. Each dream musta been just that one single event.

mxyplux: I use to have the same thing happen! Sometimes I would hear my husband call as clear as can be, or it would be knock on the front door. I too would be up in a flash only to find.... nothing. I decided it was a nasty minded ghost that was pestering me... or it could have been a very real dream. ;-)

I think when something happens to a loved one & our lives change the stress & lack of sleep & worry about the future does a number on us. I'm finally settling down to normal after my folks passed. Been 2 yrs but you get so entwined in helping them that you are still in that mode(or if still caregiving) so afraid we won't "do everything we can for them" I no longer go & check the blueberries & strawberries over(mom doesn't need them any more & when I hear the fire rescue ambulance coming I don't jump up to run in & call or go over there. Normal is nice but oh what a mess things got in in 4 yrs. I'm dog paddling as fast as I can. Cleaned out lower cabinet & under sink in kitchen so bro could replace leaking faucet. Looked so old that I painted with nice white satin & now it's a joy to get something out. Plus the out of date food is gone. I've never been 1 to waste food, ha, surprise. I sure did when mind somewhere else. Haven't had any ghosts tho but did go on picnic with hubby & kids, he's been gone 30 yrs. now. That was nice memory even if it was a dream!

My mom has been gone several years. Sad that I can't remember the number. My mom had Alzheimers. She never wandered from her home that we knew about thank goodness. My sister was her care giver as she lived in the same area. My other sister and I lived out of state. Though we tried to spell her some and help anyway we could. The hardest was when mom was put in a care facility. Mom would wander in the facility and some of the doors were locked and she couldn't go from one section to another. My sister still has days when she thinks she needs to go check on mom at the care center. Though mom is gone it is just something that you know you should do. Habit I think, caring too.
