When the home power goes out while you're at market

Just wondering the various plans that you have for power outages? Our power went out this morning for 1 1\2 hours and it made me realize that I would have suffered a huge loss to my greenhouse plants of we were away at a farmers' market.

It was only 50*F outside but the sun was bright and exhaust fans (4) in three structures were running to keep inside temps reasonable. The bench top greenhouse is packed with plants so I first pulled a shade cloth over it. Then I unfastened the wirelock ends in my 20x96' tunnel and rolled up one side partially. Next I ran in the house and hooked our coal stoker to a power inverter to keep it lit. Before going back out I placed a call to the power company; not that I enjoytaalking to a recording. After thàt I had to undo the entire base wigglewire on a side of my 30x96' tunnel and roll a side up on it. Then back to the bench top greenhouse to water and wet down potted plants.

Things would have not turned out well if we were away.
