Yeah, it's...unspeakable. Anaerobic decay compounds don't smell nice. As far as the pool, it might air out eventually. At least to the point where the residual is almost undetectable. You can try the following, both work (yeah, yeah, just call me the Happy Homemaker): Dissolve 1 tbsp baking soda in 1 quart water, and spray that densely on the plastic. Let sit and dry back into powder. Then wash off (don't scrub too hard, it'll wear at the plastic, but washing away is fine). That'll help get rid of the scent from the plastic. You can try a spray of 1 part bleach to 10 part water solution, let sit for a moment, and rinse it. This can be really wearing on the plastic, however--but if it's this or throw it out, then...

If it isn't recent and isn't attributed to medical problems there could be a few things Does your husband watch to make sure she does anything, or just let her out, dissapear, and then let her in?? How big is her crate?? If its large enough that she can piddle in it, and get away from it, it's too big for housetraining. If she's doing it and hiding it under her blanket/bedding - Take the bedding away for a day or two. You'll feel bad, it'll sound annoying, but she won't do it if she's forced to lie in it once she does. If she's not housetrained, she should never be left alone in a room. This gives her ample opportunity to do her business and not get caught. You're effectively training her to just not do it in the house if you're in the room. A lot of people on here have given the suggestion to previous posters with training issues, to connect the dog to you at all times when you're home. . This way it's not possible for them to sneak off, you can catch them in the act, and they're not left alone with time to do their business.

I had a rescue dog in the back seat of my car as I brought her to her new home. She was a medium size dog (setter). Not only did she pee all over my rear seat, she threw up all over the seat and carpet. I've had dogs and cats all my life. Animals have accidents as do people. I've had my children throw up all over their beds, furniture, etc. I always found that Natures Miracle or other probiotic type cleaners made for those type of things work. My poor car, I didn't know where to begin! Wiped up as much as I could. I have leather seats but the urine and vomit seeped into the stitching. I wiped it down, then hit it with soapy water. I then soaked the seats with Natures Miracle and left all the doors open and put a box fan blowing into the car. We live in Florida and it was August. My garage must have been 120degrees with humidity the same. I was so upset, I was sure my car was ruined. I have a fairly large car (Honda Pilot) and the mess was all over. It eventually worked. It took time because of the heat/humidity. But I kept soaking it with Natures Miracle and airing it out. For a week, I was spraying the car with Febreze just to drive it. Now, I do not smell anything. The seats and carpet are dry (finally). Lot of hard work but at least it worked. Jane

functionthelook, I am not going to get into an argument - or in this case a pissing contest - with you but mating or reproductive behavior is a biological imperative for all living things. Quite a bit different from genetically programmed behavior. And why spay or neuter? Because it is the responsible to thing to do unless you are a licensed breeder and it prolongs the dog's life as well as reduces the possibility of health issues like cancer. Also, stale urine only has a scent if it is not washed away or diluted, which would not be the case in a planted garden setting. Besides the issue is not about you or I training our dogs and the methods we would choose but how the OP can protect her garden from something over which she has no control. And she has received a number of very solid and viable suggestions.
