Susan, we have lots of Goldfinches, but more often than not the tray on the thistle feeder is filled with Mourning Doves. It only takes 2 of them to crowd out everybody else.

Kayaking in Maine this past summer, going past the Camden Harbor Lighthouse.

Janey's picture looks like a sculpture of a fish eating a snake. It reminds me of this snake sculpture in a park outside the Zoo in Rio de Janeiro. I didn't have time to go around the pond to get a better picture, since we had to catch the subway back to the hotel, to catch a cab to the airport. Even though our flight was scheduled to board at 8:30P.M. and it was not quite 4:00 P.M. we were already cutting it close.

Thanks, Party_Music. Every morning I look forward to seeing what Casey posts and to decide what photo to use. It's encouraging me to take my camera outside more often, too.

On the 'monster' theme, here is one of our 'monsters,' even though he's only about 5 inches long. He is an invasive from Cuba, the brown anole, now in Florida. I don't mind them--they eat ants and insects.
