Comments (10)My Chickie Girls are getting too creative! I know to check the free standing hay feeder but this is what I found today. So far there have been no broken eggs even though the horses have access to everything. You have to give them credit; they put the hay in there and made their own nest. There's a wall feeder right next to this bucket so they didn't have to go far for the hay. I know to check the wall feeders for eggs and now I have to check the buckets! If I would have wanted her to use this as a nest you can bet she wouldn't have. I don't know how many girls are using this bucket. This is probably 2 days worth. 11 years agoNative black tailed deer at Port Reyes, CA. In the foreground is ice plant, which is an invasive species there.

Janey's picture looks like a sculpture of a fish eating a snake. It reminds me of this snake sculpture in a park outside the Zoo in Rio de Janeiro. I didn't have time to go around the pond to get a better picture, since we had to catch the subway back to the hotel, to catch a cab to the airport. Even though our flight was scheduled to board at 8:30P.M. and it was not quite 4:00 P.M. we were already cutting it close.

Thanks, Party_Music. Every morning I look forward to seeing what Casey posts and to decide what photo to use. It's encouraging me to take my camera outside more often, too.
On the 'monster' theme, here is one of our 'monsters,' even though he's only about 5 inches long. He is an invasive from Cuba, the brown anole, now in Florida. I don't mind them--they eat ants and insects.
