Grandkids, pets, sitting almost anywhere outdoors and observing people, the beach. Whipping up a plain fluffy omelet, breaking off pieces of toast, buttering them and eating bites of omelette on them.

Sipping my afternoon cup of warmed up coffee while playing on the computer and singing hymns to my cat who is helping me watch the glorious migrating birds at the feeder..... Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Goldfinches, Indigo Buntings......calls for a little Doxology.

I love a good night's sleep on clean sheets with a cool night's breeze wafting through the window. I long for that during the months of summer when it's hard to sleep until it finally cools off in the wee hours of the morning.

I love sunrises and sunsets when the sky has interesting clouds and colors and watching a storm move in from the horizon.

Running in the trails, that go forever, along the river with my running buddies. We do it 3X a week - best thing ever. Everyday we are so thankful that this is in our backyard.

Enough to eat - too much, maybe? A warm house ... especially in winter when the wind comes whistling in the gap between the house and the garage when I arrive at night, to get a warm supper and bed.

As I messaged a lady on the retirement forum here about ten years ago who worried about her husband retiring early, as he had few alternative interests ... what is it about freedom - that you find disconcerting?

Running; it's simple me time in the great outdoors, no schedule, no drama. Waking up with the kitty cuddled on my right side & DH is cuddled on my left side. Home baked bread with real butter. Shooting(camera) wildlife & flowers. The camera lets me see things up close...

Having DS, DIL and dear granddaughters in our city. A nap under a warm blanket while a cool, gentle breeze wafts into the room. The aroma of freshly ground coffee. Freshly baked anything. Coming upon a really good book that I can't put down, or one with beautiful illustrations. Breathing in the clean aromas of a freshly scrubbed house. Visiting my favorite, and only living, aunt. The satisfaction of having mowed the lawn.

Any time with my kids is precious, because we don't see them near enough. We have a family camping trip coming up in June, I just cannot wait. It is a physical ache and it takes me days to get over it when they leave after being home.

The windows open on a crisp, cold night. I love watching it snow at night. It's so peaceful and serene. I love sitting in church on Christmas Eve or during the Easter Vigil when the lights are low, there's only candle light. It makes me happy to see the tiny baby bunnies every year in our yard and the fawns in the spring.

Listening to my favorite talk radio guy every morning when I wake up, feeding the goldfish and the koi, snuggling with one of my cats, riding my horse, soaking my tired feet.

Walking the neighborhood at night during new fallen snow; the sound of peepers; the final good night kiss and hug from my honey when we get in bed at night.

Socializing with my family and making them laugh. Being involved in so many people's lives makes me happy. The sky, trees, animals, birds, the ocean and lakes, the smell of rain, rainbows, a child laughing, elderly people holding hands, praying and meditating, singing, jazz, blues, good food and on and on. I'm a pretty happy person.

My parrot snuggling up to my cheek and falling asleep on my shoulder. Reading a good book.

My grandchildren, living in the country (I haven't tired of it after 40 years), photography (mine and digitizing my dad's impressive body of work), writing, hooking rugs out of recycled woolen clothes, the woodstove in winter, singing, public speaking (yes, I really said that), reading in bed, and more.

Two things I don't enjoy as much as I used to are cooking/eating and gardening. I still like both, but not to the degree I used to. I've had to give up so many foods, and ticks take a lot of the fun out of working outdoors.

Yesterday I got a call from my biking buddy (he was gone all winter long...) and he said, he was on his way over, on the bike.

Oh boy... oh boy... finally a reason to do some more miles on my bike, than just to work and home.

Had a piece of banana nut bread, and rode off. I ended up with 15 miles.

Just what I needed... a friend to ride with... that managed to get me on the bike. :)

Browsing a country cemetery on a warm sunny day. Sitting in my toasty car in the sunshine eating lunch. Closing down my office computer after a productive day. Admiring my bright green well-fertilized front yard. Watching hummingbirds at the feeder. Enjoying a brief solitude at home, sitting in DH's big comfy recliner till he comes home. And controlling the remote!
