Yes, understand that sheared shrubs sprout new growth from the cuts, and not in a uniform, predictable way— may send out “ wild hairs”. This ( in my experience) is much less a problem in slow- growing shrubs like boxwoods, more a problem with fast helpers, plus fast- growers often have more open branching habit , if shrub form is more rounded than upright/ conical. So it takes years ( or starting with very big expensive nursery shrubs, or both) to get the big, fat, tight- growth and sheared look in that photo because usually those are slow- growing evergreens. There are much more experienced shrub experts on the Forums who could correct me or weigh in. Including shrubs that might be closer to your stated goals.

I think I was wrong! I'm 99 % sure now it was Tournament of Roses. I found some at Regan nursery in Fremont CA. It is exactly like mine. That variety is hard to find in the USA now though it used to be common. It has a prickly peduncle not smooth like Queen Elizabeth and reverse coloring on the petals as oppised to solid pink on the queen It is a grandiflora with only very mild fragrance. It is heat tolerant Thanks evryone for your help
