not going to touch the ids bc I'm awful at that (#1 is a haworthia I'm pretty sure, and the tall one in #2 is maybe an aloe?), but I do know that the sprawling branch is a flower spike which appears to have run its course, so yes, you can remove it c:

I am not really good with IDs either but #1 looks like a haworthia to me. I'm tempted to say a variation of Haworthia mirabilis but I will probably stand corrected: there are lots of haworthia that look similar to yours! As for the "branch" that has sprouted, I personally wouldn't remove it unless it is dead (but I'm new to plants, too, so please do wait for someone a little more experienced to confirm!)...

I'm interested in what #4 is, too, because a friend of mine has one that looks the same — except it is fuzzy! I told him I was jealous. Seriously.

Did you just buy it and repot it? Or, perhaps, moved it from a sunny location to a shaded one?

How often do you water it...?

The yellowing could be a sign of overwatering or soil that does not dry out quickly enough. They don't like to stay damp: a quick water and dry in a day or so. Those fleshy leaves are all it needs to stay hydrated. It's also possible that it's just acclimating to its new home and light situation, and will bounce back after dropping a few older leaves.

I noticed your zebra plant seems to be in the original peaty soil it comes in from the garden center. You have to get all that stuff off of it. It holds too much water, and will eventually turn to hard dry stuff that won't allow any water to absorb. Find some soil that will drain pretty quickly and dry out. A variety of things prevents me from making the beloved gritty mix people here talk so much about, but I've gotten along pretty well with mixing perlite into regular potting soil, 50/50. Any potting soil except Miracle Gro. It's cr@p for succulents.

wow thanks for the response dannie317! so, I'll try to repot the zebra plant. how about moisture? I read somewhere that zebra plants may just be closing to hold moisture in due to too much sun? is this true?

hi Six Silver! that's the problem I think. (the soil of the unknown succ) I just bought it in a market, not in a garden store. it looks like the veggie vendor just roughly dug it and put it in a plant plastic bag and decided to sell it to make extra money! (I took pity on the plant looking so sad with the veggies haha) I'm afraid to repot it because the soil looks like hardened clay. I'm afraid to hurt it even more if I attempt to remove it :(

If the soil it's in is that bad, I'd repot into gritty mix if I were you...
I know Dannie has advised on a mix of soil and perlite; personally, I am trying to get rid of all my soil mixes and replace them with something both soiless and inorganic: it's supposed to make reduce risks of overwatering, which I find so easily happens with succulents in soil...

The first one is, like the Zebra Plant, as you call it, a Haworthia. And that branch is actually a flower stalk.

Haworthia #1 finished blooming, so stalk could be cut off (you said it is dry).
I wonder what are all of them potted in - is it soil they were bought in & you just put decorative rocks on top?
What is the white 'stuff' in your dish garden (& the one you think is thimble too) - is there a perlite or?
I don't think anything is wrong with haworthia #2 (zebra). The are not supposed to be flat, they grow more upright.

Is there drainage in those mugs?
Dannie already suggested that yellow leaves could signal plant is overwatered. They shouldn't need to be watered too often, maybe 1/week - but we don't know where you are - depends on weather.

IDs:

Haworthia cuspidata (yes, that's a spent flower stalk-ok to pull off)

Aloe juvenna (doing this on my phone, so no access to reference material for your cactus IDs)

Haworthia attenuata

The fasciated/crested plant could be a Sedum or Grapto-something-hard to say.

Mammillaria of some sort

If the 'original soil' is very peaty, it could be either very dry (like a rock) or very wet and neither is good for your plants.
If the white mix is perlite and/or grit, that would be ok, I wonder if it is also only top dressing.
I guess it is warm and humid where you live?
I am guessing that top left plant in your dish is cereus tetragonus (Fairy castle) but am not sure...
How about those drainage holes? - are there any?

Haworthia likes a bit more water than most of my other succs, providing the soil is not too heavy. Zebra plant for example I think you can give it light watering every 5-7 days

Other 2 small cactus in dish garden may be Gymnocalycium. Hard to say which species.

Not sure what you mean by "the original soil is quite 'loose' when dried"

Succulents grow best in soil that is loose at all times, not only when dry.

So, I finally had the courage to repot my dying plant (#4). Washed the roots, and it looks like this:

What to do next? Do I need tolet it dry first before repotting it? (if so, how many days will suffice?)

I'm a little curious to know how your plant #4 is doing, M_Medina, as my friend is having similar problems with his fuzzy plant (leaves getting yellow and falling)...

What did you repot your plant in? Is it better now?

I would have liked to help with you questions regarding the roots, but I am too new to plants for that; I'd say they look okay although they do seem short... and too compact? Actually, it looks like a cutting that is growing roots... but someone else might know better!

I was also surprised how few the roots were. Yes, i repotted it already. The yellowing of the leaves continues but being the optimist, I'm hoping its still onto recovery. I hope its just taking its time to be accustomed. (its been just 3 days since repotting)

I will update you with pictures perhaps a week after repotting it to see valid results!

I'm glad you found it! I did try looking for yours but couldn't see it — then again, I thought it was exactly the same plant, just one being fuzzy; didn't expect it to have a different name...

It's still not better. The yellowing continues and now its got fewer and fewer leaves.
