Need help with kitchen cabinet handles
Comments (6)There are at least 2 ways to think about this. Either the handles are jewelry, or you don't really want to focus on them and let the cabinets shine on their own. That is a very personal choice. As far as utility, you can use the same style handle in different sizes to go with the different size drawers. I personally love the look of all horizontal handles if the kitchen has a modern feel. Note how they used 2 shorter handles for the wider drawer and another I think it can work for mission style. Are the cabinets installed? You can wait to put the handles on last and order some samples to try things out. I would even wrap pens or dowels in aluminum foil using the lengths you are thinking of and taping them to the cabinets to see the general size effect. 40+ handles is a lot of $ to get something you don't like Do you know if you want chrome or oil rubbed bronze? I think start there, and then see what you can find that you like. ORB knobs on darker cabinets will blend into the color of the cabinets - but that maybe a look you like: Note how the knobs and handles are pretty invisible on the back wall...See MoreNeed help finding brass pull to compliment RH Aubrey pull in chrome
Comments (3)Cup pulls look awesome. I have some on lesser used drawers. They aren't as functional though. Personally I would consider using the House of Antique hardware pulls I linked above for both cabinets, just in different finishes. I have them in the polished nickel and they have held up nicely in the year they have been installed....See MoreCabinet Handle Pull Size... HELP NEEDED!
Comments (2)Go pick up a couple of different size pulls (handles) at a home improvement store. Take them home and see what you think looks and would feel right on the cabinets. This is just for size, not for what you would really put on there. If the cabinets are not in yet, go to the cabinet displays with your samples and check it out. Whatever you choose, try to get a sample in your hand before you order them all or have them installed. I fell in love with a certain knob. Unfortunately, the matching pull had very little space for your fingers. I ended up choosing a different pull by the same manufacturer in a slightly different style but the same finish. I used knobs on almost all the cabinet doors (the hardware I picked was not cheap, and using pulls everywhere would have been very expensive, there are a lot of cabinets). On the normal sized drawers, I used 4" pulls (Center to center hole measurement). I have two stacks of wide drawers, and I used two 6 3/4 pulls on each of those drawers. I also used the larger pull on the trash pullout and a tall pantry door. I have dark raised panel furniture looking cabinets so I think it looks nice, and I like the way they feel. If you have shaker or a more modern type cabinet, using the same size pull size on everything might be a better choice so you get a sleek consistent look. I did not put pulls on the dummy drawer below the sink. I did not want anyone to mistakenly try to open it, and felt that it would be in my way when working at the sink....See Morekitchen remodel drawer pull and door pull size help needed
Comments (7)I live not far from Rejuvenation and have shopped there for many years for both of my houses (1912 and 1922 era homes), before they were bought out by Pottery Barn or whatever large company bought them. About the only things I've bought from them recently are switch plate covers (back when they still carried a thicker version) and some porch lights that they had on clearance that match the current ones I have on my wrap around porch. I've looked at their hardware. I've felt it - it's not as good as it once was, in my opinion. It is perfectly good quality - don't get me wrong - but in my opinion something was lost along the way when the company was sold many years ago. Note that it's just my opinion. They do have quality stuff. Consider ordering one set before buying a whole kitchen's worth, just to make sure you're going to be happy with the hardware. I've looked at House of Antique Hardware and Wayfair and everything in between. It's all a bit better than the big box stores, but otherwise pretty equal in quality. Consider shopping around. (I'm going with Forge arch pulls by Hickory Hardware through Wayfair for my White shaker cabinets)...See Moreareese03
