Been noticing an unusual sound in my car as I drove. It kept going even when I turned the motor off until I opened and closed my door.

Dashed madly over to where I had my oil changed last week, as I thought maybe something had come loose during the oil change process.

Asked for the manager, as we know eachother from previous visits.

Came out to the car, listened on my side, then went to the other side and touched a button on my dash.

It was static on my radio as I never listen to it, and it wasn't on a station, thus static. Some where, some time, in my moving around in the car, I must have accidentally pushed the radio button.

My duh moment for the day.

Oh, that story reminds me of my beloved 1976 VW bug. You didn't need the motor running to play the radio. I turned the volume down as I stopped at the toll booth (I worked there so I stopped and said "Good morning, Jim!", chatted a bit and drove on). Forgot to turn the bloody radio off when I parked. Yep, my first dead battery 'cause I left the radio on all day.

I will always be grateful to Jim (yep, the same guy manning the toll booth) who had jumper cables in his truck. Jim gave me a set for Christmas. Just in case. Yes, I used them. Quite a few times :-)

Yea, but those can sure give us a grin! At least, when it's all said and done, and it turns out ok.

One of my favorite seeds to collect this year has been Jewelweed seeds that I've been grabbing with my mom. It's so ridiculous and hysterically funny watching for my moms reaction when she goes to touch one. Kind of the plant equivelant to "Operation". Barring obvious trauma (the Walkman was dropped or such), it sounds like a component just got old and passed on. You might be able to take apart the Walkman to see if there is an obviously-disconnected wire or such. But getting into the unit non-destructively might not even be possible. And your time probably could be better spent looking for a replacement. :-(

I'm a little confused about your setup. So the drive-in broadcasts sound over the radio, and you want to use the portable radio to receive it? Then feed that to the speaker. How are you connecting the radio to the speaker? The Amazon listing gives virtually no info on its input/output options. The box says it has an 'audio line-in' jack - is this what you're using? Are you using a cable with 1/8" plugs at both ends to connect the radio to that jack? This should work as far as I can tell. Does the speaker have any kind of input selector? In other words do you have to select Bluetooth input vs. the audio line-in jack?

vcr does not work with dtv converter pls help

If the converter is connected to the VCR, you can't change the channels with the VCR. You'll eventually need a VCR with a built-in HD tuner if you want the VCR to change channels. You can always use the old VCR to watch any tapes already recorded.

And then my friend, today, left me a pr of her gardening gloves in a sack with things she was giving to me. NOT the gardening gloves though :O)

Because of my vision situation, I am currently not driving.. I run the engine every couple weeks for ten minutes or so. I mentioned this to my DGS and he told me to also run the heater when I run the engine. Okay, when I went to do that, and it has only been about 6 weeks or so, I couldn't remember how to turn the heat on. Had to ask my DD.

I have had some real senior moments lately. at Valentines I got my grandkids cards ready to mail. Put $10.00 in each one. I was going to my daughters the next day so I thought I'd just take theirs too them. Well, I went to the post office to mail the other ones. Yep, I handed all of them to the postman. Off they went. I didn't have their addresses on them so there went my $30.00. Them come Easter I had bought each their cards. Come time to mail them i couldn't find them. Come Monday morning I found them in my napkin holder on my kitchen table. At the twins birthday party I turned around and tripped and landed face first on the cement. Cracked the bone in my elbow!! Ouch!!
