Ok so I live on the first floor in an apt above the basement.recently maintenance was cleaning down there most likely stirring up three different bugs I've never seen before in all my 52 years.theres bugs that hang out in the junk drawer I think the same ones that go into the flour bag.i just empty the contents of the drawer,clean it and they're gone for awhile.they also hang out in sealed containers clothes etc.then the bugs you don't know are there amongst dust or under the frig and stove imagine they're attracted to whatever oil is under each appliance,then fruit flies,weevils not tics,and leaf flies that killed all my plants,they fly and jump extremely fast Ok so I live on the first floor in an apt above the basement.recently maintenance was cleaning down there most likely stirring up three different bugs I've never seen before in all my 52 years.theres bugs that hang out in the junk drawer I think the same ones that go into the flour bag.i just empty the contents of the drawer,clean it and they're gone for awhile.they also hang out in sealed containers clothes etc.then the bugs you don't know are there amongst dust or under the frig and stove imagine they're attracted to whatever oil is under each appliance,then fruit flies,weevils not tics,and leaf flies that killed all my plants,they fly and hopping skittering so fast which hang around anything damp then lay their eggs.recebtly finding the worms on towels,tea bags,keurig filter water filter,the catfood they even sneak in my bags of fresh bread and they try to hang around the kitty litter box I try to cleaning immediately after the cats do their doody which I imagine are crawling up their hoohas.apple cider use to work when it was just fruit flies,these new bugs aren't bothered by dish soap,comet or apple cider vinegar with dawn.ir just seems like I clean one room 🌟 ung another then repeat repeat repeat,I feel like I'm wasting my time and products that have no effect on them.hellllp!

Plaster beetle? Anyone know?

Yes, Jackie, I do see my variety, and also saw it on another site that advised what to do about them. The ones that attack roses can be different colors, although the main variety seems to be red, but the black ones are common too. Great tip about the nodding buds with holes in them. I have seen them before but never paid much attention. I certainly will now. I got quite a number of them with the soapy water method when I went out earlier and will continue to do it every day. It's not so bad now since not many roses are blooming but in about 3 weeks it will be a different story. Unfortunately most of my roses are light-colored, which they favor. I'm wondering; Blush Noisette has many buds, would they go after single roses?
