HAVE: African violet leaf/plantlet Round Robin!
Comments (13)Hi Deb, If you are not having any response maybe you should try posting about the round robin on the discussion page. Some may not check the exchange page thinking that it is too early or too cold yet. Just a thought. Patty...See MoreDahlia Round Robin
Comments (4)Hi Yall! We have enough people to do a round robin (and hopefully will get more!) Here are the details: Please send me your list of tubers and the qty you are trading by March 1st. It is really important that you do not drop out after I have the lists, fellow members will be counting on your wonderful offers! I will compile a list of what is available and send it back out to all of you. Please let me know your top 4 tubers you would like the MOST and I will try MY BEST to accommodate those requests. You can add more than 4, like colors and types you prefer but I cannot promise anything. I will ask you send me your tubers by March 15th so I can divvy them up and get them sent back out to you by the 20th. (If you send me 10, you will get at least 10 back!) If the weather is wicked cold during that time, I will push back this date and keep you all in the loop. You will need to send enough postage to send your original box back to you (I am thinking the USPS small flat rate postage box is the best way to send these to me and back to you). You can enclose either cash, a postage meter strip or stamps for the trip back home to you. If you have any questions please PM me or post me (thread specified below), I want this to be fun and exciting. This is an awesome way to grow our collections and meet fellow dahlia lovers. Think Spring! Keriann~ PS: please follow the thread on the Plant Exchange titled Dahlias for Dahlias...See More2015 Raleigh Spring Swap
Comments (29)Hello everybody! I was wondering if you guys still had the plant swap going up there in Raleigh? I am glad it is. I actually attended one about 12 years ago and really enjoyed it!! So much so, that I came back to Charleston, SC and started one myself. I saw somebody mentioned that they kind of adopted a FB page. I searched for it and could not find it. The reason for my post is, it is very easy to start a FB page for a swap. I use one. You can see it here: North Charleston Plant Swap Hopefully maybe some of you folks can come down to our Fall swap. I hope to make it back up there for one of yours someday. Take Care and Happy Growing! Darren...See More2015 Spring Round Robin African Violet Exchange
Comments (6)Either or both. We can do plants or leaves, when I said plants, I meant to say "Plant material," which could be leaves or baby plants.. Some people said they want to send chimera flower brackets. But that might have gotten vetoed off the list as too difficult to propagate. Linda said we can send small plants. Someone else said, perhaps send them without the soil, just wrap them well and put in a baggie. that is so the postage won't be too heavy. I plan to send leaves to make it simple. I suppose if we send leaves, they should be protected in such a way that they don't bump up against bigger items. Maybe insert each leaf set in a baggie. Someone suggested inserting the baggie inside a toilet paper tube. I have not done this before, so I don't know if the box will be a standard priority mail medium size square box. I will describe it when I get it as I am second on the west coast list II. I plan to send either what was requested or leaves that I know will last a long time in the box and propagate easily, plus some extras not on the lists as insurance, since I am at the beginning of the list and want to make sure the leaves survive a few trips around the country....See Morefortyseven_gw
