Need ideas for lake frontage/wetland area - zone 5

We just cleared an area of our lot to allow access to our lake. Now, I don't know what to do. I panicked and threw down grass seed, but it was in the heat of the moment and I doubt it will take.

Long term plan is to put in a small dock (it's a small no wake lake), fire pit/seating area and add some native plants back in that would control soil erosion and look nice near the waters edge. I'm thinking of a few plants like wild blue flags, cardinal flowers and new england asters. Maybe some Dutch white clover near the lake like a buffer area?

Any thoughts or ideas? Thinking this out before taking out the vegetation, already noted. The area to the left of where we cleared is our neighbors, I'm assuming he is going to clear his area this summer too and plans to put a dock in, if that matters to anyone. The area to the right is woodlands that we are planning on keeping pretty natural for the foreseeable future.

Thank you!
