Wow- great points. The lav faucets I was looking at are not very lav-looking, they have proportions like most bar faucets... but I think you're right that I don't want one in the pantry. It's the drain lever that isn't right, even if the spout height and proportions seem fine. Beuhl, I am using a hansgrohe talis S pull-out for the main faucet (because of the pass-through to the LR it would look weird to have anything higher) so I feel like I need something smaller than that for the pantry. It also needs to be fairly modern, which is a bummer because there ARE some smallish bar/prep faucets out there but they seem to all be traditional syled, at least in my price range! I'll just keep looking...... since its not the primary sink I won't mind if it sits bare a few months longer. Thanks!

well, i'm kinda thinking as a chef/ prep point of view.. so i don't know what kind of prep work you will be doing. Like my examples, cleaning a fish or washing vegetables, 'high arc' faucet are more convenient. yes, the high arc is to accommodate tall pots, but it's also basically a 'pull out' faucet but instead of the hose hiding under the sink, it's exposed with a springy thing. it's like a 'coiled' electric cord.. so you have all those hose and it let you reach far when you pull the springy thing down. it won't be splashy if you adjust the water volume down when you wash delicate food, instead of more of a full volume for rinsing dishes. So the Brizo is a pretty good prep faucet because it is high and it can pull DOWN very far (better then pull OUT). what i'm just not sure is how smooth and easy it retract.. esp after couple years. If you already have a cleaning sink, and the prep sink is in a central place in the kitchen, i'll still get a 'high arc' but a more elegant one.. .. oh, ya,, when i talk about 'high arc' I mean the ones with the springy thing.. not just a solid fixed high arc faucet. I have both the regular Delta Allora on our clean-up sink and the bar size on our prep sink. The standard size one is very big-- I was kind of shocked when I first saw it, but it does work with our scale. The bar size one is plenty big. But although the bar size one is probably more appropriate for smaller spaces, keep in mind that while it has a pull-down function, there is no spray option. If that makes a difference to you.

Whether it will work functionally depends on how far the reach is. A 15" deep sink will be overpowered by a faucet w/a 9" or 10" reach and will block easy access to the sink when the water is running. I need my hands in the sink much more at the Prep Sink than at the Cleanup Sink. So a faucet that sticks too far into the sink would get in the way. My Prep Sink faucet actually is a bit too deep for my 15-3/4" square sink...and it has a 9" reach. I think a 7" or 8" reach would have been better.
