I need a 'pudding' recipe for Nanner Pudding
Comments (34)Teresa, I love that pudding cake too, Grandma called it hot fudge pudding cake. I didn't open this either, because I detest bananas and so I'll never make or eat "Nanner Pudding". Or Banana Pudding either! However, I do think I know why the meringue goes on top instead of whipped cream. Things didn't used to be "wasted" or thrown away, and refrigeration was not as abundant or reliable as it is now. So, when something took a lot of egg yolks, like lemon pie or custard/pudding desserts, the whites were naturally used for meringue so they were not wasted. It's not a northern OR a southern thing, it's a old farmer thing, from times when everyone was much more frugal than we are today. Annie...See MoreWhat are you making for Easter dessert?
Comments (42)Lou, yes I remember the bread basket with egg. It was the sweet bread dough. I see on the other thread you made it and it looks great. Did you ever make the noodle pudding with Anisette/anise flavoring? Thanks Terri, I think I'm the lucky one with her putting up with me for all these years. lol. Your helpers have such concentration putting the jelly beans on those cupcakes and love the pic of your helper chowing on the peep bunny. Cathy, $4 a flat......... swoon. Between you and David, now I want some strawberry shortcake though. On biscuits with unsweetened whipped cream....See Moregonna make banana pudding and a ????

Comments (41)Reporting back on the double chocolate biscotti (thanks, Olychick!): they turned out great (crisp/crunchy, but not tooth-breaking hard)! DH gladly served as my tester today, and his comment was, "They taste great, but kinda dry: maybe don't cook them as long?" Ugh -- biscotti, man, they're BISCOTTI! I'm going to try a couple of almond recipes tomorrow so I can gift 'black and white' versions to family this year. Question is, how do I label these so family don't think I'm giving them over baked cookies? :/ (They'd be too polite to say anything.)...See Morekatlan
